Italians hate us, In fact meds in general don't see us as their kind and reject us
Germans and Nords see us as inferior and lazy people
Poland hate us for bailing on them
Every eastern country prefer Germany over us
Belgians, Swiss and Québécois hate us for being arrogant
Japan and South Korea prefer the US over us
The US and Russia don't care about us
Even migrants prefer going to Germany or Britbongland
Everyone else see us as Germany's inferior slave
We don't belong in any group, we're always seen as the odd one out

I think I have been at least 10 times to France, by now I finally understand why so many French people stay in their country during the holidays. From huge canyons to the hedgerows and cliffs in Normandy, the pine forests in Aquitane or the Pyrenees in the south. Not a single piece of France is the same all with their little subcultures. Most people I met there were very welcomming even though my French is a bit lacking sadly.

As said, Alsatian is a bit like that. They certainly use a lot more French words than Germans while speaking Alsatian, but these French words are recent additions. As for Franco-Italian, languages like Niçard, Monégasque and Arpitan fit the bill fairly well. the number of letters =/= the number of phonemes. your language actually has approximately 15 different vowels, which makes your language quite hard... you'd never know how hard it is to master the pronunciation of /y/...

But we have (or maybe "had") tons of dialects influenced by our neighbours. French itself is a dialect of the o-il languages, a subdivision of the Gallo-Romance branch, which has more or less been influenced by Germanic languages.

This Parisian language was forced on the population throughout the long 19th century
A fair amount of the population was already speaking French. It was the official administrative language after all.

French is pronounced very different than Parisian.
What? French IS Parisian

Quebec speaks a form of French like the early modern era royal court before the 1789 Revolution.
Wrong, both French and Québécois developped different ways. I don't know where this meme that "Québécois is more French than French" comes from.
If the French of France would have deviated so far from the French of the 18th century, why the French of a people of an English colony wouldn't?

Franco-Italian
Occitan kinda, though it's more Franco-Catalan
Catalan is an occitano-romance dialects, like all the other occitan dialects
Franco-German
Alsatian
Alsatian has almost nothing of gallo-romance, it's extremely close to German. Only thing I can think of is they say "salut".

Bonjour, my name is Frédéric.

I'm a 27 year old Prussian Francophile (French fan for you rosbifs). I write French literature, and spend my days perfecting my French and reading superior French books. (Monte Cristo, etc)

I train with my Baugette every day, this superior bread can cut clean through steel because it is kneaded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other foodstuff on earth. I earned my bread license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak French fluently, both Langues d'oïl and the Langue d'oc dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about French history and their sexuality, which I follow 100%

When I get my French peerage, I am moving to Paris to attend a prestigious University to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a bicyclist or a professional white flag waver!

I own several berets, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to France, so I can fit in easier. I insult my elders and seniors and speak French as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

Wish me luck in France!
