The "Hanfu" movement in China is really cringy.
Couldn't they at least hire Japanese silk weaving professionals and historical experts to try to recreate dynastic Chinese clothing?
Not cheap alibaba tier clothing

really wish Jow Forums weebs and netouyos would migrate to quora and duke it out with the wumaos there. i'd love to see you retards fight
This thread isn't that bad I think.
The op is clearly smarter than a typical netouyo.
Other than anime, kaiten, and sin, almost every japanese "cultural" creation or tradition is based on an ancient chinese equivalent
Keep this in mind the next time you wear a yukata for tanabata to watch fireworks, little Japan.
There's no reason to wear any of these traditional outfits outside of historical reenactment. Modern clothes are better designed, more durable, and more practical.
They’d also have to contend with Pajeet Hindu nationalists
What do you think of Ao Dai?
>Hindu nationalists
>Pajeet
They don't see themselves as "pajeets"
They unironically believe that they are "indigenous" Aryans

anything more than first generation X-American is disgusting
nothing worse than a burger talking about muh heritage
Is this the continuation of this thread?

Japan likes ancient "China" i.e. Tang
We don't like People's Republic of (Soviet-Manchu) China
We even like Republic of China
You are American cukturrless so you wouldn't know.
It's worn on special events like festivals, ceremonies etc
just manchu'D
Ah yes, the sophisticated Japanese tradition of wearing robes and praying to ooga booga tree spirits. Truly the epitome of culture.
I haven't researched much into it.
From what I understand there nothing really traditional about it at all. Basically Vietnamese equivalent of Chinese cheongsam
Do they hate Tamilians
I think number 12 is the prettiest but I want number 13 to Dom me
18th century was the peak of clothing in entire world
Tamils have their own brand of Dravidian nationalism, so yes.
nigger what
Japanese silkworms and Chinese silkworms are a bit different in kind.
So silk cloth is also different.
Of course they hate tamilans
The very existence of tamilans and Tamil culture makes most hindu nationalists angry
Tamilans are the only people in india who still follow Dravidian culture , they still speak only dravidian language (tamil )
They still follow non vedic Hinduism
There are many Tamil nationalist movements too
But most of north india especially hindu nationalists see this as a separatist movement
Tamilans see this as an indentarian movement
Some of their leaders openly say things like " we may be indians for last 75 year's but we have been Tamils for last 2000 year's "
This was said by their Chief Minister
They take tamil identity seriously
Unlike north indians who LARP as Aryans ( they also deny aryan invasion theory )
South indians especially are proud of their heritage
>South indians especially are proud of their heritage
Please the average south indian perks up if you confuse him/her as a north indian.
>From what I understand there nothing really traditional about it at all.
This is true, actually. The Ao Dai got a lot of modern modifications during the mid 20th century by fashion designers who took cues from European fashion trends. Then the Vietnamese government popularized the new Ao Dai and nationalized it afterward. So the Ao Dai is one of the least traditional Asian garments, in all honesty.
>skirts are banned
Seriously why was the most silliest shit done in old times, like the beard tax.
The Party needs the proles to feel like they have a sense of belonging while they bulldoze the next historic neighborhood for luxury high-rises. Some ticky-tacky "authentic Han" clothing is just the sort of thing that helps to temporarily fill the gaping hole they're tearing open.
Your not wrong. The death of capes and poofy hats was a dark day for fashion in the west.
keep seethin. chinese will return what is rightfully theirs.
>rightfully theirs
they burned it away them selves
Yeah , south indians take their identity seriously
Let me give you an example
South indians mostly don't care if you call them darkies or black
If you call ANY south indian " Madrasi " regardless of who or what they are ( they could be tamil , telugu or mallu )
They loose their shit
That's like the n word for them
If they don't like us calling them Madrasi did you REALLY think they would like if someone else called them as North indian of all things
Easiest way to piss any south indian is to call them Madrasi
Works EVERYTIME on them
>they burned it away them selves
What do you mean?
they're right though, the only theory opposing native aryans are 19th century memes gone too far
>Madrasi
waht does it mean
Mao didn't go hard enough
shut the fuck up the only thing you do at best during special events are firing fireworks and thats literally chinese shit
Madrasi means someone from Madras
Madras used to part of Madras presidency
Which most of modern day south indian used to be part of "madras " and Madras presidency
Tamils don't like it because it is remainder for them that they lost almost half their territories
Telugu and malayalee people don't like it because it reminds them that they used to part of Madras presidency
It's essentially similar to calling Canadians as Americans
Why would they hire shitty Jap silk weavers, if they have the best silk and weavers?
You should also go there K-American. You pieces of shit are worst than the japs.
No not really they're from iran Afghanistan etc
