Australia used foreign currency all the way up till a handful of decades ago. In 1800, a couple of different foreign currencies were official declared legal tender, which were each given equivaleny to pounds and shillings.
During the gold rush period, unofficial coins were minted and used as currency. Kind of interesting. At one point, rum was also used as a form of unofficial currency.
Some of the bills I got, more in next post and I even got coins if you are interested
How long have you been collecting currency, user?

I only have a dozen hyperinflation notes, biggest one being 100,000 mark. I like these a lot but they are hard to come across at a good price. I have a lot of stamps from the inflation though
It's a pretty cool collection. Are you part of any coin collector forums or whatever? Is there a currency collector "scene" in India?
My grandma used to collect stamps but from memory it was more of a casual thing. I've never really met a proper collector of anything, it's an endearing passion, desu.
I got ww2 german occupation one, might have more

I got 1 Cash - Qianlong from the late 1700s
There isn't much of a scene here for foreign currencies as the ones I like, my college is in America and a lot of my stuff has been acquired from my time there. It was kinda hard to keep going before that but I still managed a decent collection
