just sounds like 's'. lol don't germans know what 's' is?

it's longer in pronounciation i think
like double s or something

ẞ is the Same as two s basicly

it's ss

β?

waffen ss ?

ẞß why are there two?

S gets voiced to Z very commonly with standard pronunciation so it's to stop that

.

(I think). If I typed "Straße" as "Strase" it would be pronounced "Straza"

waffen ẞ

>american
expected

Then tell me what's wrong with what I said instead of just low effort shitposting

I do that too tßh

s compared to ss/ß is just spoken softer
Also don't even try learning german

I'm talking about preventing the S from being voiced by doubling it, do you even know what you're talking about?

"ẞ“ is sharp while "s" ist soft in German. In english the "s" is sharp and "z" is usually soft. So the difference between "Straße" and "Strase" would be the same as theglish "tase" and "taze".

>I'm talking about preventing the S from being voiced by doubling it
just stop already

I more just meant it retains its sound in words regardless of placement

wait but we literally do that all the time aswell

HOLY.... RARE

>tfw surname has an ß but English doesnt have the letter so we had to change it to ss.
