Your country

Very much so, now imagine 3 billion fast food signs on that single street

Went on a roadtrip recently where I went through Alberta. There were so many towns that looked like this, so depressing.

No, thank god. In the suburbs it can get pretty close but not like that

how do we deal with the c*R problem?

In every fucking American city that isn't downtown New York, Chicago or San Francisco.

Attached: dd.png (1310x706, 1.44M)

what's wrong with it

>what's wrong with propagating an unwalkable, unsustainable infrastructure that codifies the consumption of land and mandates twenty parking spaces per square foot of commercial floor-space

It's also ugly as shit.

are you some kind of califonian libtard or something

i think so

This is pretty much what every "commercial strip" looks like in the US outside of actual downtown zones.

>can't walk
>ugly architecture
>too much asphalt everywhere
>buildings too far apart

>i hate my first world paradise

>Codifying the consumption of land is bad
What is wrong with private ownership of land

somewhat

Why is the sidewalk so narrow?

Are you blind or retarded?

>live in suburb
>nearest supermarket is five miles away, because local government refuses to authorize mixed-use zoning
>couldn't walk there even if you wanted to because kek no sidewalks

>drive to Wal-Mart
>spend thirty minutes circling the lot to shorten your twenty-second walk by five seconds

>remember you need to buy adult diapers from a store across the street
>Wal-Mart and Diaper Supply Co. are separated by a 50-lane highway
>nearest crosswalk is in another county

Gosh, I wonder what the negative effects of automobile-centric lifestyles and infrastructures could possibly be, user.

flag
yes

>much narrower street
>greenery
>bike lane

it's way better

does this count?

that's what we call a wealthy capitalist society, libtard socialist

In this case, the problem is two-fold: firstly, businesses aren't located in proximity to the communities they serve, and secondly, local governments bent on upholding zonal segregation mandate a certain number of parking spots for businesses.

The consequence of the latter variety of codes is that the prevalence of ugly-ass buildings and shopping centers surrounded by parking lots bigger than the structures themselves.

Of course, Americans are unwilling to spend any tax dollars on public transportation, so it's only logical that massive amounts of land are paved over for parking.

>that pic
nuke it

i'm not even sure what you're talking about. is it just main roads?

America used to be walkable and not ugly

Free parking is communism

>60% of American women and 70% of American men are either overweight or clinically obese
>between 1/10 and 1/12 Americans are Le Depressed
>social isolation becoming disturbingly prevalent
>hostile zoning and independence-oriented suburban communities accelerate the breakdown of traditional community networks

such development

i found something similar. I think these kinds of places exist all around the world, user

Attached: sollentuna.jpg (1920x799, 188K)

okay, that's pretty bad

I don't suburbanization is even fixable at this point

this looks almost identical to a place in my town. take away that big green bit in the middle of the road and replace it with a thin concrete strip and there's no difference at all besides the car shops not being exactly the same ones.

you even have the same ugly grey sky that we do

Need to maximize the space for cars. It's impossible to live in US without a car

The whole county is nothing but cardboard homes and stripmalls.
t. joco

>you will never live in a bustling, ultra-dynamic and lively third-world city comprised of small, locally-owned businesses, a handful of chains and just enough crime to feel alive

H-heh, the bus is for stupid poor people!!!!!

>earns $2,000 per month
>has a $200 per month car payment
>pays $200 per month for comprehensive coverage
>spends $50 per week on gasoline

Attached: chap.png (1289x758, 1.82M)

why did we copy america?

Attached: sollentuna.jpg (1881x937, 494K)

why romanticize that, of all things

that'd be a compliment to us. we're ukboos over here

Attached: kbh.png (1903x1228, 2.92M)

>does this type of ugly scenery and poor urban planning exist where you live?
In the big cities like B*yamón or San Ju*n. The rest of the urban areas look like picrelated for the most part. Not that bad looking imo.

Any more than two lanes in each direction is a waste and looks depressing.

>>you will never live in a bustling, ultra-dynamic and lively third-world city comprised of small, locally-owned businesses, a handful of chains and just enough crime to feel alive
Come to the Norf of England if you want this. Just be aware that all the "locally-owned" businesses will be owned by Indians, Pakis and Poles.

Really? Didn't expect that. I always got the feeling that Scandinavian countries generally looked down on all non-Scandinavian countries.

Do Danes feel any sort of connection with the English, similar to what you probably have with Norway and Sweden, given the Anglo-Saxon and Danelaw parts of our history?

>I always got the feeling that Scandinavian countries generally looked down on all non-Scandinavian countries.
Couldn't be further from the truth. We're UK-boos here as well. Our immigrants boast about having relatives in the UK from what i've heard.

>classy lights next to a McDonald's
kek

in general we have an obsession with the uk/usa/australia. most people who emigrate from here chose those countries. you're also a popular tourist destination, the entire country not just london.

nowhere as close as sweden and norway, but you could probably rival germany. we pride ourselves on how we conquered some of england as a small irrelevant country. you're also one of our biggest trade partners.

this is so true lol. i've got relatives in london, new zealand & new york, and when i tell people that they think i'm posh or something.

>ugly scenery and poor urban planning

Welcome aboard!

Are those apartments?

depends on what you're talking about

yes

I resent it but I've always been the odd man out

Attached: AMERICA.jpg (1391x900, 652K)

Anyone who isn't an obese, mentally handicapped lard resents it.

American infrastructure is miserable, as are its many negative societal effects.

stop bitching about it.
it is what it is

>don't complain or talk about the trends that are ruining your country

Why are you fags so obsessed with how everything looks that you keep talking about it every single day? Roads, grills, your dick etc?
It is a fucking road. You drive on it. It is not a beauty contest.

USA
Not where I am in the Northeast. I'm from CT and live in NYC now. There are some places maybe in NJ or Long Island that look like that.

>American infrastructure is miserable
It used to be good but then they stopped putting money into it and decided to do the bare minimum when building and not repair anything.

complaining on Jow Forums does nothing. and there is no trend. bike paths, less parking, public transportation, condos shooting up, is what is happening. but you wouldn't know, cause you never leave your suburb. how ironic

yeah but not a common thing

I've been to 40 countries and traveled extensively across the United States; I have a half-clue as to what's going on here and elsewhere.

There is a definite trend away from suburbanization, but it isn't universal or particularly widespread. Do you think the average city in the Rust Belt has the resources to revamp public transportation? A recent, nearby initiative to expand bus routes and add dedicated lanes was defeated because people didn't want to deal with a few months of construction.

And do you think that "condos shooting up" corresponds to mixed-use, dynamic zoning or plans?

Interesting & informative. Ta.

okay mr. worldwide, rome wasn't built in one day.

Ignorant piece of shit
You clearly know nothing about America
Now go post in a mutt thread to make yourself feel better

Danes suck ass, don't they?

amen brother

SIKE! Danes are bros!
