Finland is a mistake in history. I am sure that Finland does not exist in the vast majority of parallel universes. The fate of Finland was the same as that of his Lappish ethnic brothers; that is: to be absorbed by a better civilization such as the Scandinavians. Probably Sweden in this case due to geographical proximity.

Fennoswedes existed from the moment the first Swede stepped foot in Finland. Their position was weakened in the 19th Century, they weren't invented then like Finns were. You were literally just a bunch of irrelevant and largely unrelated Finnic tribes whose only binding factor was being ruled and united by Sweden. Finland is inherently a Swedish, Germanic nation. If you deny this you should go back to being tribes.

Frankly what we're taught about the European Theater of WW2 (in school) is that Russians threw bodies at Germans, we did Operation Torch, then D-Day happened. Anything else is just from shit you read online. What I understood of the Winter War was that Finland held the line, then negotiated peace when the USSR was ready to get serious with them.

This is mostly correct sure, but Finland still lost both the winter war and continuation war. If Stalin were to invade 1945 Finland would've been absolutely destroyed but they weren't interested about us at that point, we both were able to make good enough deal and those reparations we paid actually helped us to industrialize during cold war

They were still tangling with Japanese in Manchuria and had around 28 million dead across the USSR. Wonder why they didn't want to invade.
