The matter of France with Charlemagne and his paladins, mostly Roland and Oliver. It used to enjoy similar renoun as the Arthurian cycle, but didn't benefit from the same contemporary revival as its British counterpart. However modern fantasy does take inspiration from it to an extent, seeing as it invented the concept of paladins.
