Greece is one of the rare country on Earth which is underpopulated. It should have between 16 and 22 millions Greeks.
>Macedonia and Thrace Around 5 millions >Peloponnese Between 3 and 4 millions >Attic Between 3 and 4 millions >Thessaly 3 millions >Central Greece Between 2 and 3 millions >Epirus Between 1 and 1.5 million >Crete Around 1 million >Other islands Around 1 million
Ah, Greece, where the men look like Turks, and the women look like men

Greece is not what it used to be anymore
Noah Clark
It's because of geography. 80% mountainous terrain. We can't have heavy industry. If we wanna strive economically it has to be through the service/tourist sections but most of greeks would rather just chill and enjoy the sun, me included. It's good enough to get by but not good enough to thrive in riches.
I thought Greeks were supposed to be good at math.
Parker Howard
The reason your society works as well as it does is because you're very few.
Ryder Rivera
But you are also few.
Dominic Collins
Isn't Greece very rocky and low on good farm land? If anything they're overpopulated.
Jaxon Morgan
Yeah, but there would be capacity to go up a lot. Naturally that'd require that the population increase followed the way of life as of now, ie. works, follows laws, etc.
Daniel Edwards
Are you retarded? 100 in 1000 = 10 % or 1 in 10.
Aaron Peterson
We're few but Greece covers way less land than Finland or Sweden. Also, much of that land is uninhabitable (mostly due to mountainous areas). As a result, even though villages and very small towns function like rural areas in your country (economically too), cities are full of shitty apartment buildings and poverty because people flock in the cities when there's simply not enough space.
Brody Young
western turkey has the same weather and very similar landscape and yet even our 3rd most populous city has almost half of your entire population combined
Ian Rivera
There never really were too many of us, so that's also a factor considering our low birth rate, but again, it's much more crowded than you think. Nearly half of our population lives in one city. Plus, Turkey is huge in comparison, and even if a few people move from the east to western turkey (searching for opportunities only found in big cities), that's probably still going to overshadow Greece's moderate numbers.
Greeks gave us democracy, theater, mathematics and science. Turks gave us fuck all.
Julian Phillips
>implying The ancient Hellenes were kicked out of Greece by the Turks and moved north, devolving into Albanians, modern "Greeks" are just Orthodox Turks.
how is finland any different? not like our land is any more hospitable

>It's because of geography. 80% mountainous terrain. We can't have heavy industry. Our country is about as mountainous as that yet we do have advanced heavy industry. What is more important about geography is access to ports which Greece seems to have perfect. Another is abundance in water for industrial use. If your country was just wide plains then it would make more sense to base your economy on agriculture. >If we wanna strive economically it has to be through the service/tourist sections Didn't Greece used to have the world's best shipping industry? I don't know how it is going these days.
Carson Martin
A lot of them moved it before they got into the EU. There’s a million subhuman Greeks living here for instance.
