Yes I've been in /mena/ and my takeaway conclusion from that is that there are far too many Western flags in the thread. It made me uncomfortable, in the same way that colonialism has always made Americans uncomfortable.

The reason why I bring up American anti-colonialism is that it's actually one of the few positions we've been relatively consistent on, due to our past history. The Philippines and Cuba were a mistake, yes, but overall between the Monroe Doctrine, Suez Canal Crisis, America fighting Japan in WW2 and liberating Japanese colonies, etc. etc. we have a very good track record of resisting mass political immigration.
