Regular setting, accidentally clicked on Arabic instead of French, ending the final life. Cool little site, going to try out the highest difficulty.

what the fuck is Amharic
it sound so much like arabic

one of the Ethiopian Semitic languages, which are a subgrouping within the Semitic branch of the Afroasiatic languages. It is spoken as a first language by the Amharas and as a lingua franca by other populations residing in major cities and towns of Ethiopia. The language serves as the official working language of Ethiopia, and is also the official or working language of several of the states within the Ethiopian federal system.[9] With 21,811,600 total speakers as of 2007, including around 4,000,000 L2 speakers, Amharic is the second-most commonly spoken Semitic language in the world, after Arabic

Fun game. Got tripped up by Irish which I'm pretty sure I've never heard spoken before.

Regular mode.

Got stuck on Azerbaijani, Pashto and Norwegian--the latter because there were five options, all of which were other Nordic languages. Guess I'll try omniglot now.

Attached: poo.png (439x617, 23K)

Actually not that difficult, senpai. None of those languages sound even remotely alike.

Played on omniglot, btw. Why doesn't it say the level in the end? This is a bit dumb.

Nbele and Kʼicheʼ got me. Somali and Amharic was pretty tough, too.

There also was Gulf Arabic vs Tunisian Arabic but I caught one or two French loanwords. One trick for African languages is to try to hear whether there are some French or English loan words.

Reg, guess I'm a baka.

Omniglot

European/Indian languages were easy, almost all that I got wrong was African languages

237 on omniglot.
It's relatively easy although I had to luck through distinguishing between Sindhi and Gujarati

On regular

This is the worst feeling. I thought Lithuanian sounded more softer because it's closer to Poland while Latvian would have Phonology closer to East Slavic languages

FUGG

Did a lot better than I expected on Omniglot.

I lived in India for a few years, study Hindi and a Bengali GF, so none of the Subcontinent's languages are particularly tricky. Only difficult spots were differentiating between some Eastern European languages, like Czech and Slovene, or Nordic languages, like Danish and Icelandic.

Fuckers all sound the same to me.

I got to 200 and gave up. So boring when it's endless if you don't fuck up. There should be a time limit mode and you get a higher score the faster you identify.

208 on regular
but I got English like 10 times so it dones't count

Omniglot was easier than regular.

I always failed when it asked to choose between a bunch of African or SEA languages
I was expecting to choose between Slavic languages for hard or omniglot, but they always showed up among languages of completely different families

t. Lost out when the quiz asked him to differentiate between Swahili, Somali and Shona

Right here, get on my level

Damn son
Only got over 400

I’m somehow able to suss out the differences in Asian languages, also you can differentiate slavic languages by their sound and grammar (eg bulgarian has no cases, so if you hear declensions in words then you know it’s not it) Plus it gave me Armenian like 5 times and if you know any Armenian it’s extremely easy to tell apart from other languages.

580ish on regular
180 on omnligot, i'm having a really hard time keeping the eastern european languages apart desu

Regular

What is a good score for Regular?

>play the game
>hear it*Lian language
>close the tab
god I fucking hate that language, no offense but it sounds so annoying

do norwegians speak "duc phac quac ting meng qong tong rac"?

>tfw 78 on hard
Just now realized I almost never hear languages spoken, at all. I had to rely on key spanish words for Spanish and I looked out for French and German accents. No joke, when it came to an Asian language I literally just heard for short sounding words with lots of vowels. I couldn't differentiate between Chinese and Cantonese and Vietnamese if my life depended on it. When it showed Arabic and Persian and the language sounded middle eastern I just guessed.
It's over.

I KEEP CONFUSING POLISH AND PERSIAN
