I am American. I cannot stand Americans. Theyre loud and obnoxious, rude, obese, and stupid as hell. They think everything revolves around them. They do everything backwards and think the American way is the "correct" way and the rest of the world is wrong (using the customary system instead of the metric system, for example) and they're wilfully ignorant. Don't even get me started on our corrupt government and garbage ass political climate. Down south is nothing but fat inbred christian rednecks, and all of the big cities are filled with literal communists who majored in intersectional feminism. I've always been rather quiet and reserved, and I've always had a more global perspective. I think many European countries are far ahead of us in many ways. America literally teaches in grade school (or at least they did in the 90s when I attended) that we're the only free country in the world. I remember being shocked to learn that other countries have freedom when I was like 8 years old. Ever since then, I've been extremely critical of my home country and I've had a more global perspective. I notice when annoying Americans are being annoying Americans in public. I notice when we steal ideas (like our fucking national anthem) from another country and claim it as our own. My country annoys the hell out of me, and I don't want to spend the rest of my life here.
Convince me to take the plunge and move to Europe.

Not OP, but I'm also American and I've always STRONGLY preferred popular European music to popular American music, particularly music from the UK. I've noticed working at a record store for a couple years and dealing with imports and international record sellers that the American public isn't and wasn't nearly as open-minded as Europeans were. Some of my favorite artists such as Siouxsie & The Banshees, David Bowie, and Kraftwerk were hugely successful in Europe but never charted very well in the states and often times the tracklists of their albums were altered to appeal to Americans (Kraftwerk re-recording their German albums in English, The Banshees' cover of "Dear Prudence" being added to the American release of Hyaena so that they would have a "hit" over here, etc.)
I think Europe is far ahead of us in terms of art and culture.
