Anyone here think Italian food is overrated? I’m talking about real Italian food, not those “American Italian food” trash. Italian food is good but it’s no where near flawless and divine as normie made them out to be

Mortadella alone proves just how wrong you are.

I don't know how highly rated it is where you're from, but italian food is actually divine.
Its the best cuisine in the world if we talk about non-designer meals.
Especially because there is such a huge regional variety and its still all great.

No, Italian food is perfect. We eat Italian food all the time in my country

Dr. Oekter is german

I don't think there are people in Europe that didn't eat spaghetti and meatballs when they were kids.

We don't eat that German trash

Based

I like lasanke

Attached: IMG_20190316_173244597.jpg (2080x1560, 1.25M)

no, it is the best

Mortadella is garbage. My grandma tried to get me to like it

This, spaghetti, pizza and pasta is part of a normal European diet. I think I read somewhere that Norwegians eat more pizza per capita than Italians

a ate those foods

Based

We should get the Pope to smack you in the mouth. There is bad mortadella like the thick shit. Get something thin like in the pic.

Italians are the only people who know how to cook

Shit tastes

apparently not many

gabagool?
ova here

gabagool

It's simple everyday food.

No fuck you i used to eat the shit every morning for years. I’m done with it

what is finnish cuisine?

My father said his German coworkers ate Italian food more too.

I heard that frozen pizza is really really popular in your country. Is that true?

Smoked reindeer

I really enjoyed my trip to Italy desu.

Btw, can’t remember wtf it was called, but this sandwich thing I got was delicious. It was just flat bread, cheese, and ham. I don’t know what type of cheese. I think it was called like “bufalone” or something like that?

norwegians eat grandiosa brand pizza
like you have anything better

Attached: IMG_20190316_174143131.jpg (1560x2080, 997K)

not surprising, I would be surprised about pasta

Fuck all those replies and you drones are all praising Italian food. Guess I’m really the only who doesn’t like Italian food

all i know of is buffalo mozzarella

hOlY FuCk these darn sheeple and their good food!

I've only ever had spaghetti with minced meat.

what kind of cheese is that? cringe, not using mozzarella

I imagine it was a piadina with mozzarella di bufala.

grandiosa is based

No, I’m talking about the sandwich. A terroni sold it to me at an AutoGrill

Oh yeah that was it

>quel coglione che mette la mozzarella nelle lasagne

This thread is making me hungry, should order a pizza before the local restaurant close

there's a lot of koskenlaskija and gouda in it

>spaghetti with meatballs
I thought this was an Italian-american thing desu. I had an Italian girl tell me that doesn’t exist in Italy

It's usually with minced meat but I don't want to confuse you guys.

>I had an Italian girl tell me that doesn’t exist in Italy
it exists, it's just something a terrona grandma sometime does with the leftovers, not something you eat in restauants. Idk how it became so famous in Murica though

>it's just something a terrona grandma sometime does with the leftovers
Because when terrone grandmas immigrated here, they made spaghetti with left over meatballs and sold it in their restaurants.

Italians were poor when they arrived.

what cheese should be used, then? My father taught me to use mozzarella and he makes the best lasagna I've ever tasted.

italian immigrants to the USA were all terrone grandmas and grandpas

and Sicilians. One of my great grandpas was Sicilian. My grand parents on the otherside were terroni

bechamel if you want to be autistic. mozzarella is still good

Besciamella

>sicilians are not terroni

italian cuisine is amazing especially when you get a chance to visit different regions and sample dishes made with the local ingredients. truly a pleasure for gastro tourism

I thought they were lower than terroni

it's thinner parizer if you think about it
amd that's a good thing

they are a step higher than Ne*poletans

Really?

It was probably just focaccia with toppings, pretty popular street food

It is great, mostly because once you know what you understand the philosophy behind the cuisine it’s all pretty simple. It’s really rewarding and diverse

wtf are Sicilians the Dalit of Italian people?

why are sicilians like this?
youtu.be/fjY737t32Is

What do you call this thing in Italian?

wafer napolitane

wafer (loacker)

Gesù ahahahhah

Tasci are thoroughly mocked in our collective imaginary
Wafer. The W sounds like V

We call it napolitană. Most sweets are feminine grammatical gender. There's even negresă which I'll let you guess the meaning.

I know, I was joking
it's just wafer

looks good m8, proud of you

We call them politanke

squaquerone and bufala is also a patrician choice for piadina.

you can make fun of that kind of music but those songs all have a based guitar solo , go back listening to (c)rap

thanks
even my mother doesn't make lasagne that good

Attached: 1528203465228.png (651x799, 32K)

have you tried making it with pesto?
I make it sometimes and its bretty gude

That sounds pretty cool.

How genuine is the food in this clip? youtube.com/watch?v=Qrgm0i2uU2U

lasagne with pesto? no
I like salmon pesto pasta with extra jalapenos

>quail
we eat that it's good
>fennel sausage
wut
>mussel soup
I guess that's just boiled mussels which we eat
>burrata
yet, it's great, wouldn't be great by the time it takes to ship it to america but well
>cannelloni with besciamella
this too is great, from Rome
>those sweets in the last clip
yank as fuck

There was also a dish involving flowers but I can't recall what it was.

La salsiccia col finocchietto è una delle cose più indigeste di sempre, se per caso viene comprata alle grigliate viene sempre voglia di uccidere chi l'ha presa

might be this, zucchina flowers (called pumpkin flowers)

Attached: ricetta-fiori-di-zucca-fritti-in-pastella.jpg (1000x667, 93K)

ah okay ho capito quale è, non mi piace e non si mangia molto nella mia regione.

Yeah. That's the one.

non capite un tubo, la salsiccia col finocchitto e vino è top

>La salsiccia col finocchietto
I didn't know about this, I thought he was just referencing how sausage often has fennel seeds.

Italian make best food.
Decent film
King of musical(except America?)

I wish I was born rich northern Italin

How are Italians not so fat when everything they eat is so high im carbs?

>I like salmon pesto pasta with extra jalapenos
you should try pasta with salmon and cream

Attached: panna_e_salmone.jpg (1600x1059, 259K)

they skip breakfast

ma è una roba toscana tipo? ha ragione l'altro user rimane sullo stomaco e poi rutti finocchio per due giorni

South Italians are fat though

2/10

It's how much you eat, not what you eat. A large US Big Mac can probably feed an African family.

it isnt about carbs it is about portion control, they are one of the healthiest and longest life expectancy countries

>italian cuisine is full of carbs
>carbs make you obese

when will these mems die?

not really, just fatter than the national average.

>How are Italians not so fat when everything they eat is so high im carbs?

Attached: soylord (1).webm (400x400, 1.94M)

It's not divine, it's just good food that appeals to most palates.

>pasta with salmon and cream
excellent

Kids here get fat because of the lack of exercise combined with a diet that often includes too much processed crap and fizzy drinks.

>Cheese+tomatoe sauce+beef+charcutterie+some variation of wheat
Italian food is pretty simple. Their fish dishes are awful, their seafood is shitty, their stews are mediocre, their charcutterie is inferior to France's and Spain and their desserts are pretty mediocre

I wonder how many people ITT that bitch over Italian food have actually ever tasted genuine Italian food.

you fell for meme diets.
Stop eating sugars (snacks and sodas) and you'll be fine
