shame Europe didn't build skyscrapers until the late 20th century

Attached: old town.jpg (1800x1775, 1.05M)

Too bad America didn't keep the old ones so NYC could look like gotham and not awful.

gotta build higher for more office space

in the back: souless

That city you would considered the crown jewel of Canada with thousands of tourists flocking to it if we had something like this here. Big American cities are not liveable places.

Protip, they are both very old

I like Tokyo only because when I was there it had both skyscrapers and run down cybepunk-like alleys with pubs and neons. Maybe I'm just so used living in a place with castles and all the jazz that I'm ungrateful.

Olsztyn is cosy, cheers warmiananon.

Is it Poznan?

Why do you say you wish? Go make it happen then.

The castle is just too obvious. That's what you get when Poles try to build like teutons.

picrel is 100x better than skyscrapers, i'm sure this is bait but if you unironically prefer ugly glass eyesores over cultured old historical homes you should just end it.

No fren, quite far away from it actually.

there's a castle in the OP?

>i'm sure this is bait
It is, he post threads like that daily, mainly with pics from Poland and questions like
>Do you like German architecture

>buildinglets are superior

Middle in the back

looks like high commieblock

Its been 2 months, since I posted a thread here fren.

Exactly.

>implying

Attached: upper levels of Coruscant.jpg (2003x800, 277K)

It's ok but looks very commie block-y, Tokyo was nice NYC dosn't seem as nice. Still one of the top cities in the world no matter what I say or think so don't worry.

>blocky
>hasn't ever seen Tokyo

Attached: 1536067280538.jpg (2048x1365, 2.37M)

We still don't. Thank god we made it illegal after communists started building them in other countries.

Attached: DSC_1115_Nr.1.0.jpg (1600x1068, 178K)

Oh I've been there. It's so random when you look at it from the street level that I could never call it like that.

your loss

Japan has good zoning

like this?

a statement that from you just speaks of ignorance

Yes but with more advertisements, lights, people and drunk people in the evenings.

lol mutts think this is aesthetic

please never reply to my again

Attached: romanian vandalism.jpg (3000x1611, 2.05M)

thats unironically aesthetic you dumb fucking gypsy

If you want aesthetic skyscrapers. then singapore is the answer

It is tho, I would trade all glass dildos in Warsaw for one skyscraper like that.

Anyone knows what this architectural style is called?

Attached: new-york-building-facade-of-brick-building-with-fire-escapes-nyc-manhattan-KD96AD.jpg (1300x956, 290K)

You think so?

Attached: 1555206883348.jpg (782x788, 321K)

Singapore skyscraper is more aesthetic than Tokyo's.

Tokyo was made for people to walk, enjoy themselves. Singapore is a business place, not made for living in the center. In Tokyo you get nornal pubs/restaurants on every corner even in the most snobish districts with people getting wasted and munching on great food.

absolutely

Attached: coruscant upper levels.jpg (1920x1080, 2.1M)

Arent we talking about skyscraper? Singapore has more aesthetic modern architect.

architecture

Oh trust me you'd change your opinion once you actually see those fucking skyscrapers everyday
In every and each of them there's a few thousands salarymen working overtime at all times
It's depressing just thinking about it

Skyscrapers in tokyo are both for business and for people since right between them there are cosy places. I wrote skyscrapers but I guess I ment the whole of the feel that place has and what it offers.

is this a real building?

yes

Attached: woolworth building.jpg (1666x2500, 562K)

Every building built in north american cities built from 1850 to 1950.

Yeah whatever Pablo. Stay in your dystopian nightmare. I'll stay in my paradise.

>live in Tokyo
>wake up
>look outside
>see wall of building next to you
Yeah, heaven indeed.

to each his own Muhammad

Attached: Nicest building you'll ever meet.jpg (1779x2369, 659K)

those corner towers almost look like a video game in the previous pic

>gothic revival skyscrapers
Go art deco or go home pleb

NYC just doesn't appeal to me. If most skyscrapers would look like that it would be an improvement.

I think S*eden is nice but some of our smaller historical town kick S*eden's ass in terms of comfiness 9 times out of 10.
That's the world's first skyscraper, you idiot. It set the aesthetic for the design.

clear off, neogothic is life

Attached: and they call it a mine.jpg (1600x1066, 470K)

neobaroque skyscraper or gtfo

Attached: gage.jpg (936x960, 235K)

that's not the first skyscraper buddy

Attached: home insurance building.jpg (1200x1851, 750K)

This is why I want to live in tokyo/asia but it would be hard to find work and live there

Fuck, you're right, Flatiron was the first in NYC. I remember learning about the Home Insurance Building in my history class in middle school. My bad.

>neo-spikeshit
ewwwww
original spikeshit was bad enough, as it was to now get tacky spikeshit skyscrapers

wow they really are a gypsy people

it's pretty outlandish and inspired, but also like something from a steampunk anime

>to each his own
It's 'each to his own'

Attached: 800px_COLOURBOX8082076.jpg (800x533, 94K)

make dealings

Attached: tribune tower.jpg (2048x1341, 338K)

This country is pretty fucking stupid when trying to preserve anything.

New grand central is shit as it's all underground while the old one had some character to it.

Attached: grand_central_in_pictures (1).jpg (1600x1077, 120K)

Simply awful.

How disgusting, Vasari was right.

>this triggers the euro

Attached: OldStateHouse_signature_TomKlein_2016.jpg (1200x675, 480K)

I like it, what a shame.

bait thread

>Thoroughly destroys the historic center
>Replaces it with something worse
If you want city planning done right just look at Hausmann.

Only reason why it's still standing is because it is where the first Americans got shot.

Attached: 800-boston-massacre.jpg (800x728, 135K)

>British royal coat of arms built into the very structure

disgust

Attached: New england.jpg (2592x1944, 1.26M)

notice the absence of the lion of england and the unicorn of scotland

Reminder that the first American to get killed was a black man.

get the fuck out

He's still right

WE WUZ SHOT

powerful

I think 9 DeKalb Avenue is one of the better looking new towers in New York. Funny that it's in Brooklyn though. The buildings around it look pretty awful

How did we go from this...

Attached: stpauls-1_watercolor of broadway with both churches.jpg (1200x659, 686K)

they have only started work on the foundation

...to this?

What went wrong?

the evolving city, the needs of industry, proximity of labor, improved construction methods, progress!

I hope they spared the dog

>spiral escalators
Do such things actually exist anywhere. Sounds pretty fun

not really on that scale, at least not in this country
