richest man ever alive

inveted the concept of music supposedly

They had art/civilization/technology just on an extremely small scale. They never surpassed even native americans.

Gosh, get a book

Uganda + Rwanda will be future superpowers.

The real question is, did they have to do anything?

Basically this.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Kush
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Aksum
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mali_Empire

Eastern Africa did a lot of trading like the kingdom of Axum.
Medieval Mali had a lot of gold.

>“The town seems to be very great. When you enter into it, you go into a great broad street, not paved, which seems to be seven or eight times broader than the Warmoes street in Amsterdam…The Kings palace is a collection of buildings which occupy as much space as the town of Harlem, and which is enclosed with walls. There are numerous apartments for the Prince`s ministers and fine galleries, most of which are as big as those on the Exchange at Amsterdam. They are supported by wooden pillars encased with copper, where their victories are depicted, and which are carefully kept very clean. The town is composed of thirty main streets, very straight and 120 feet wide, apart from an infinity of small intersecting streets. The houses are close to one another, arranged in good order. These people are in no way inferior to the Dutch as regards cleanliness; they wash and scrub their houses so well that they are polished and shining like a looking glass.” -Olfert Dapper

>Great Benin, where the king resides, is larger than Lisbon; all the streets run straight and as far as the eye can see. The houses are large, especially that of the king, which is richly decorated and has fine columns. The city is wealthy and industrious. It is so well governed that theft is unknown and the people live in such security that they have no doors to their houses. -Lourenco Pinto

>Virtually all that is known of Abu Bakr II is from the account of Chihab al-Umari. Al-Umari visited Cairo after Mansa Musa stopped there during his historic hajj to Mecca, and recorded a conversation between Musa and his host, Abu'l Hasan Ali ibn Amir Habib. According to Musa, Abu Bakr became convinced that he could find the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, and outfitted an expedition of 200 ships to find it. Only one of those ships returned; the captain related that the expedition had come to a "river with a powerful current" in the ocean. The current took most of the fleet away, after which the captain turned back. According to Musa, Abu Bakr was undeterred and launched an even larger expedition with himself as the head, departing with 2,000 vessels for his men and a like number for supplies. He left Musa, his vizier, as his deputy during his absence. The expedition was never heard from again, and Musa became the next emperor.

Timbuktu must be interesting. There are ten of thousands of manuscripts with african poems etc.. It's one of the oldest university in the World I think. For sure the oldest in Africa

Sub-Saharan Africa is the same as Northern Africa, they both never did anything or invented anything. Whole of Africa is home to subhumans.

>university
they literally just read the quran

Not only. Also normal subjects were studied. And in those books there's also poetry, history etc

Interesting.

>The head is made using the lost wax technique and is approximately three-quarters life-size, measuring 35 cm high. The artist designed the head in a very naturalistic style. The face is covered with incised striations, but the lips are unmarked. The headdress suggests a crown of complex construction, composed of different layers of tube shaped beads and tassels. This decoration is typical of the bronze heads from Ife.[5] The crown is topped by a crest, with a rosette and a plume which now is slightly bent to one side. The crown's surface includes the remains of both red and black paint. The lifelike rendering of sculptures from mediaeval Ife is exceptional in sub-Saharan African art, and initially was considered the earliest manifestation of a tradition that continued in Yoruba art, in early Benin art and other pieces. An excavation in Igbo-Ukwu in 1959 provided scientific evidence of an established metal working culture and bronze artifacts that may be dated to the ninth or tenth centuries.

Mansa Musa of Mali was the richest man in history.

Please note that historical Beninese Empire and modern-day Benin have nothing to do with each other.

Benin City is in Nigeria today, while what is today Benin was refered to as Dahomey for most of its history.
Dahomey is that ebin state which traded slaves and was mainly known from that, and enslaving themselves.

Take your meds bushra

Dahomey also had ebin amazons
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahomey_Amazons

Wish commies didn't rename them after Strait of Benin (named after Beninese Empire).

Apparently they invented fractals.

Scholars use the terms ge and gle interchangeably to refer both to Dan masks and to invisible, supernatural spirit forces that live in the forest but esteem to enter the civilized world of the village.[1][2] The only way they can do this, the Dan believe, is through masquerade.

In order for a gle to be embodied during a masquerade, an initiated member of a Dan men's society must have a dream that reveals the exact nature of the gle, its intended function, and the masquerade through which the gle would manifest. The council of elders, once they are told of the dream, decides whether the masquerade ensemble should be created for that man to wear and perform.

The wooden gle is accompanied by a full-body costume constructed of raffia, feathers and fur. It is believed that each gle has its own personality, preferences, dance and speech patterns and is given a personal name. The wearer of the mask takes on all of these qualities during the masquerade.[1] Having come from the dark, mysterious realm of the forest, a gle is believed to be unpredictable. Therefore, an attendant always accompanies the gle masquerader to control it and interpret its speech.[1]

eastern africa was actually pretty on par with india/egypt/persia
western africa was closer to stone age civilizations until the muslims conquered them

Yes they did and do, not wakanda tier but they had something, not that they aren't completely incompetent in all possible sectors in today tho but in simpler times they could have done comprative decent accomplishments.

Richest men and kingdoms/empires in the world, Aztecs and Spaniards didnt have shit on them

no, east africa was pretty shit too

seething dutchieee

They also weren't completely savage and feral and living like animals.

Yeah, they had empires and kingdoms. People are just ignorant about sub-saharan Africa. You'll often hear people say things like "oh they were in the stone age for 50,000 years". Well first they had iron, so calling them stone age is silly, and second most of Africa was sparsely populated until 1500BC-500AD when the Bantu people migrated out of West Africa and into the south.

>be nigger
>be richest man in the world
>"hmmm what should I do with this gold"
>"oh I know, I should destabilize the whole world by inflating it"

Did the bantus utilize farming as their primary diet?

based negro communist

Yes, they were pastorialists.

I see, I can see how they could displace the hunter gatherer peoples of africa with their superior pastoral culture, what was their staples?

Zebu, various kinds of sheep.

that niggas from Sudan have Pyramids i think, not sure

Nothing much we just invented farming, writting, stone building, metallurgy and a few other things

>The basal type of the population of Mesopotamia belongs to a well marked type, extremely long-headed, slender boned and usually termed Eurafrican. This type is dominant in the earlier graves and has always formed the bulk of the population. In the earliest graves from Ur no brachycephals were found, but at the beginning of the third millennium this Armenoid type had already appeared at Kish, together with other...
-The Encyclopedia britannica - Volume 15 - Page 294

>Out of thirty-six crania from Kish only four can be described as Armenoid, the same number as showing some Armenoid traits. It is clear then that our evidence as far as it goes suggests, both on the evidence of figures and form, that the Armenoid race plays a small part in the population of ancient Kish. Seventeen appear to be of the Eurafrican type, thus forming nearly half the population, although some of these may have Mediterranean affinities, as the distinction in form is sometimes difficult and eleven belong to neither of these two types.'

don't ask here read some wiki articles

Mali, Songhai, Ghana, that's basically it.
Kush rode off of Egypt's coattails, so not much really.

They had successful pastoral culture the mastery and control.over the animals sustaining a superior culture to hunter gatherers

We have a publicly funded museum about this in DC, I hope you know that

White and Based
>West-Africa
So-so, their wealth mostly exaggerated and didn't do that much, but their history is on par with countries like Albania.
>Bant
top kek, it's fucking nothing.

There were also empires on the south-east, but those were run exclusively by arabs.

The French helped to rebuild the Mosque of Djenne, that building is in Segou.

By east they mean they horn, not anything south of Ethiopia.

honestly theyve never done anything without the help of Arabs or Europeans... The swahili coast and West Africa demonstrate that.
Maybe you can say the Mali and Ghana empires but that about it

>It is certainly to be desired that we should utilise the Somalis. Though it may be urged with some justice that they are also proud, treacherous, fanatical, and vindictive. Too much stress, I think, is often laid on these bad qualities, and it is certain that the average Englishman has little sympathy for the Somali. He tolerates a black man who admits his inferiority, and even those who show a good fight and give in; but he cannot tolerate dark colour combined with an intelligence in any way equal to his own.
>The Somali are not willing to agree to the simple plan of having a fair fight and then shaking hands when defeated, but constantly indicate that they think themselves our equals or superiors, and not unfrequently prove it.

This is what the Anglo was thinking when they considered invading the horn. It also explains Sweden and Minnesota.

like?
