Nearly afraid to get an ancestry test because my mothers family have an anglo surname.

that's very impressive, I can't find anything older than great-great grandparents taken in the early 20th century. when was that photo taken?

Attached: screenshot2.jpg (1150x2048, 474K)

French great great grandparents. They were from Quebec. Never learned English. As you can see my greatx2 grandfather was a manlet. Thank god I grew to 6 feet

Back in those days manletism was more common. Average dutch height was 5'4 or something

Your photo was made in photo studio of Pavel Alekseevich Ponomarev in Moscow, Pyatnitskaya part, 2nd station, house of Skvortsov, between 1894 and 1917

There's a good song from that one guy (really popular ginger singer) called Galway Girl.

My Swedish-American great grandma next to a very early airplane. She was one of the first women to ride in one

wish i could post photos but jannies banned me unless i buy a pass

I was asking about your photo but I see you said it was taken in the 1870s. Thanks for the info though. Do you know where house of Skvortsov is now? Would like to see it on google maps

A very very old photo of my grandfather Palmer Rogers in New York. You can barely make out his facial features. He was a direct relative of a mayflower passenger

Attached: A20F46FA-B9A6-4E55-91D5-55EC6FA85E5B.jpg (49x71, 2K)

Sorry, photo for ants but you get the idea. This photo was taken in the mid 1800s I believe

>grandfather
>mid 1800s
can't be right

I he’s my grandfathers grandfathers grandfather so I didn’t wanna type all that out

Where my great grandparents were from:

Paternal Grandfather's Paternal Grandfather: From Louisiana I believe, a Methodist who ran a boarding home and went senile. Outlived 6 out of 9 kids.

Paternal Grandfather's Maternal Grandafther: From Missouri. His dad was a Union soldier in Civil War.

Paternal Grandmother's Paternal Grandafther: From County Armagh in Ireland. He was an accountant.

Paternal Grandmother's Maternal Grandfather: From Posen in then-Prussia (German occupied Poland). He was a hotel manager. His surname was German but his mother's maiden name was Polish or slavic sounding.

BOTH Maternal Grandfather's Grandfathers came from Finland, one Nivala and one Oulu.

BOTH Maternal Grandmother's grandfathers come from Quebec, one was in Napeirville but I cant remember the other.

Now you know. God bless.

This house now have address: Cepпyхoвcкaя пл., 71/36 - Serpukhovskaya square, 71/36

I can't find it on google maps. I tried Cepпyхoвcкaя плoщaд but no results. My great grandfather who married my great grandma in that photo was from Serpukhov though, so that's kind of interesting

google.com/maps/@55.7299691,37.6240879,3a,90y,28.12h,93.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sAF1QipPBdaHWYT690ubi7cerjnrMdnjj7W8x_krWz534!2e10!7i6912!8i3456

Apparently I have 4 relatives that use 23&Me that live in Ireland. I looked at their ancestry report and they are all 99.7% Irish haha.

pretty cool thanks. is it just a metro station now?

One of my great great etc grandparents joined the revolutionary war and was discharged 9 days later. Dare I say based and redpilled

That squere is where old road to city of Serpukhov starts. So really cute coincidence
Also you can read an article about the house translated via google. Its stated that Ponomarev's descendants still hold a photo studio there.
translate.google.com/translate?hl=ru&sl=ru&tl=en&u=https://um.mos.ru/houses/bolshaya_ordynka_71_36/

And no, there is only underground crossrode, not metro

One of my great great etc grandparents joined Revolutionary war as a loyalist. Now THAT is a good man.

My great grandma from that photo is the only one I don't know which region of Moscow she's from, so it would be cool if she was from around Serpukhov. My other great grandpa was born just 10km from Serpukhov in a village called кapпищeвo. this might be his dad but I wouldn't know for sure without looking at archives. He was apparently killed for being a kulak.

Attached: Аксенов_Григорий_Иванович_(1884).jpg (660x417, 55K)

actually I don't know if he was born in кapпищeвo... just know that that village was important to him somehow

that is based, virginia belongs to england

cool article too, nice that this history has been preserved. maybe I'll get my photo taken there heh

>Both my granddads were born in ireland.
>Both my nans were born in england.
objectively the best ancestry

Attached: gigachad.jpg (1068x601, 65K)

I think I saw this already. I think it's from a book called "political terror in USSR" or something like that. My great grandpa (Pavel Aksyonov) was born in 1900 so that's probably not his dad. Maybe an uncle or relative. Or maybe completely unrelated.

Also Pankino is just 3 km from karpishcevo. Don't think I saw this information before. Cool stuff. Then again this guy might not be related to me at all haha. I just know my great grandpa's surname was Aksyonov and he mentioned the village Karpischevo so I googled "Aksyonov karpischevo" and that was the result

Ah, well I cant realy imagine how hard it is for foreigners, especially from America, to try to find ancestors from Russia. Good luck to you

i don't get these. they don't even tell you anything.
broadly european, what the fuck does that mean?

Thanks. I'm visiting Russia soon so maybe I can find some more info then. Unfortunately my Russian is very bad, I read very slowly and talk like a 4 year old.

my paternal side has some scottish guy that came over in the 1700s and cucked an englishman, there is a town in NJ where they landed that still bears my surname, and one of them moved to New York and built a church by himself during the winter for some people
