there are plent of examples where the eu has forced countries to drop protectionist measures in domestic industries and open up its markets to other eu countries.
and limiting tax evasion and protecting data security are not limited to the leftwing.

And how do you plan to achieve this without having arsenals full of nuclear warheads, and biological/chemical weapon of mass destruction that are best guarantee of safety? You want to put all faith in "alliances" like we used to do in the past? Poland with its economical and demographic potential could easily afford its own nuclear program such as France or UK, and it would be a total game-changer in Europe. If it happened, such countries like Germany or Russia couldn't use us as corridor for their troops. And USrael couldn't use us as its military installation protecting its regional interests against Germany and Russia. We could just take pure gain from our geography, and talk with everybody : Germany, Russia, China, USA, whatever, instead of becoming a vassal and a cannon-fodder of foreign empires. If such poor and primitive countries like North Korea or Pakistan, or such tiny countries with smaller GDP like Israel having extremely problematic geography managed to develop their own weapons of mass destruction operated by their own satellites, i see no single reason for which Poland couldn't do this.

We're almost as eurosceptic as the UK, neither is it a right wing thing.
