our developers are very creative, aren't they?

Attached: 6085964.jpg (1300x1019, 422K)

exact opposite here

do they demolish houses instead of building them?

They don't. Instead of building affordable housing they are constructing luxury property as a form of investment. That's why many cities have recently indroduced legislation to expropriate large real estate companies.

This piece of shit everywhere, and depressing looking commieblocks.

Wouldn't a higher tax be a better solution?

More disgusting parquet

this was popular here in the 1980s

no, they intentionally limit the houses on sale to create artificial scarcity so they can charge obscene prices for houses.

We do not lack tax revenue we lack housing.

I wish everywhere had housing like Singapore, while also building detached housing for those who prefer to live in the suburbs/rural land.

Then why not use said tax revenue to build/create incentives for new housing?

>I wish everywhere had housing like Singapore

It's basically socialism.

I see a lot of apartment towers in Australian cities popping up everywhere so it's not so bad I guess

Not at all. Most countries have social housing of some kind, but they purposely do it poorly so as to not kill the private housing market.

why do Chinese prefer Canada to the US?

I kinda saw shit like this in Hungary too.

>I suffer in Canada

I have no idea how the cities allow it to happen

Thanks to the low property taxes and low investment culture of the people, 24% of the apartments in Sofia are empty.

It's called Brusselization.

thanks, now I know there are words for everything

but what happened there is not a pure example of this Brusselization, because it's not modern buildings put into old neighborhoods, more like adding new floors to already existing buildings

I think because Vancouver has always had Chinese people, and because it's a lot closer than NYC, and was cheaper than LA.

Copy paste copy paste copy paste

Both are the result of lax building codes and liberal zoning laws. It's basically two aspects of the same phenomenon.

what's your opinion on Viennisation?

this makes me physically ill
why are they doing this, brat

There are lot of practical issues- these buildings usually don't have gas, central heating and so on

this is Vienna, not Poland

>these buildings usually don't have gas, central heating and so on

so what? it can be easily modernized

most of buildings in Petersburg didn't have all these amenities either, but now they do

Building minimalist boring shit apparently, all the new shit I see now is CUBES LMAO

Poland have a lot of this kind of building though.

yeah I was wondering what was going on with all those german named stores
this is not russia lmao

Have you even ever been to Poland, you dumb goatfucker

>Poland have a lot of this kind of building though.

Yes, but the old houses were replaced with commieblocks in the communist era, while in Vienna it's happening now

kek

zeabis ne tureti istorinio paveldo, isskirus pora vokisku sandeliu klaipedoje ir lenku statyta Vilniaus centra
I'm against that type of renovation, but as I saw few lefties articles about belgian new architecture, they defended it by IT'S TOO HARD TO MAINTAIN and other shit

>IT'S TOO HARD TO MAINTAIN

but it can also generate profits, especially from tourism

What the fuck how do you know lithuanian?

As I mentioned before, I'm against this type of renovation
Dunno, why they try to destroy their own historical heritage

>zeabis ne tureti istorinio paveldo, isskirus pora vokisku sandeliu klaipedoje ir lenku statyta Vilniaus centra

Vilnius niekada nebuvo lenku blet

Пpoщe бyдь, пoлиглoт.

My ancestors were send in GULAG and left here

What the fuck
Čia rimtai? davai tada aš pakalbėsiu žargonais ir pabandyk atsakyti man

turi gal kokį discord?

> housing shortage
> eastern europe

Dunno about Ukraine but big cities here have a big housing shortage.

Villages and small towns far away from big cities are dying out though

Modern architects should be purged, and a new generation should be raised, free of modernist cancer.

took this pic in Kingston, Ontario. I’m not really a fan but it’s much nicer than tearing down the old and putting up an entirely new building.

ir yra dar kitų daug priežasčių, jei nori galim apie tai plačiau pakalbėti
su moki lietuviškai ar naudoji google translate?

Yeah no such problem here exept for the Kyiv where they handle it by constructing 20-25 floors commieblocks.

>su moki lietuviškai ar naudoji google translate?

zinau keleta zodziu bet nezinau gramatikos

Looks exactly like the OP image unless you find both yikes then carry on

>unless you find both yikes

I do

Nothing at all. Real estate companies build apartments for the middle and upper classes, while the poor in the favelas have to wait for years until a government housing complex is finished and that can only provide for a couple hundred people at a time.

Exact same situation here

They don't. Neither does the government. Boomer landlords run this country.

>while the poor in the favelas have to wait for years until a government housing complex is finished and that can only provide for a couple hundred people at a time.

why can't they just start working and making money?

Usually by building new commieblock settlements
outside of city centers.

Attached: sopnica sesvete uoci useljavanja.jpg (2544x1696, 1.88M)

These are literally crimes.

did they install a slide?

We build the same shit everywhere. Hell it's seen as the new trend that all the "urbanists" (town planners) praise.

This isn’t even modernism, it’s like late-stage yuppie modernism.

That's sad. You are rich enough to do better than this.

Haha
We'll just put a bunch of solar panels, link 1 tramway line and pretend it's ecological.

Attached: écoquartier les vergers.jpg (1984x1488, 1.56M)

It's still better than our shit.

By raising the prices

My absolute favourite

>They don't. Instead of building affordable housing they are constructing luxury property as a form of investment.
It's the same here. I live in social housing in inner London and all around me are various construction projects, most of them luxury apartments.

1beds for £350k+, 2beds for £500k+, stuff like that. Largely meant for wealthy investors, not for real people to actually live in

by fixing old shit, don't even try to do something new or you gon have 70% of the neighborhood at your door

>easily
you pay for it then

by building more houses farther out

This, but without the legislation.

based, but bluepilled

Housing problems?
We build our own houses

They don't, they replace large city blocks for one family homes

Their three choices were basically Vancouver, SF or LA and Vancouver was by far the cheapest and nicest and had the largest Chinese population plus Canada welcomed "foreign investment" with open arms while the US scrutinzed Chinese investors much more closely.

same. instead of building small apartments for young people which are in high demand, they've built hundreds of luxury apartments which has limited demand and now sit unsold.
