Post interesting maps, population of the USA over time
hispanics were grouped together with white people back then
Someone post that map where it shows that only 4 states allowed slaves back when there was only 13 states in the u.s
Which ones? Virginia, Georgia, North/South Carolina and Maryland?
Also I though slavery wasn’t abolished in the north fully until the 19th century?
is south eastern California really that densely populated? isn't it mostly desert?
oh god oh fuck i’m moving to Maine
WISH WE COULD TURN BACK TIME
TO THE GOOD OL' DAYYYYS
that’s pretty cool. too bad you couldn’t keep it tho but that’s spoils of war for ya
Virginia over time
The Inland Empire (San Bernardino County and Riverside County) are mostly desert, but they have dense urban centers near LA County where the weather is more like the coast (it's still hotter than the coast, but not quite as hot or arid as the desert proper)
Riverside also has the Palm Springs metro area in the middle of the desert, fueled by Colorado River water and tourists going to Coachella
makes sense, thanks user!
King Cotton dethroned lmao
I didn't realize India produced so much. In high school I remember learning that Egypt switching to cotton cash crops was the main reason Europeans didn't need American cotton anymore.
>dat egyptian grain shipments
This is really satisfying to watch
They multiply like rats
>Also I though slavery wasn’t abolished in the north fully until the 19th century?
New Jersey was the last state north of the Mason-Dixon Line to outlaw slavery (1804).
Well that certainly tells a story
I'm surprised that Kentucky is settled way earlier than Cincinnati. Does anyone know why, because that looks like it is in the interior and not on the Ohio River?
shitty false map is false
peru's annual rainfall
Southern "whites".
Maps wrong. My county is not 30% white
Brazil's ethnic distribution

Jesuit activity and Portuguese occupation of the Amazon basin
based Jesuits, one of the few parts of the catholic heresy that is good
I really like maps like this. Gives a very interesting perspective.
Brazilian interventions in the Plate basin (1851-1864)
For sure. That one's one of my favourite, I think it really lets you visualise why northern China was so important for the development of the Chinese civilisation and the whole colonisation of the south, even though that's not the point of that particular map
I think most old russian maps do something similar, north = bottom of the map, south = top of the map
since there wasnt shit to explore north of the arctic circle compared to south of it (relatively)
ancient egyptians (well, Ptolemy erra), turned their maps to the side relative to us too (nile's source was left most edge)
Atlantic Oceanic coast of europe/africa as the bottom or top of the map was fairly common up until the fourteenth century or so too (since that was the "edge of the world", so the further you got from Europe/Africa's atlantic coast, the less accurate the map would be (or more unexplored areas of the map that there were))
Kill yourself
>france
its because part of france is in south america (and their tiny island colonies all over the world)
I made this map
He's not wrong actually.
Y*nkoids btfo
So in the 19th century
>pink line
it should reach all the way to panama
The Texas-Mexico border area was never white Paco, you know better
Test
by land area, the USA isn't even a heavily populated country compared to most of the world
technically he is not wrong, but his implications are asinine.
also hispanic is not a race, you can be hispanic and white, or hispanic and black, or nonhispanic and white, nonhispanic and black, ectera ectera
but asking about race on a census just fosters division tbqh
one of the few (very few) things current french government got right
all in due time, manifest destiny isnt finished yet :)
i would think with minnesota it would be somali (unironically), cool
Vive le duc éternel
Middle Frankish empire was best frankish empire
New Mexico needs to get it's rightful clay back.
this is terrible colour coding.
holy shit india is big boy
Too many similar colors?
Shut the fuck up and mind your own business, white trash
I'm fucking fed up every time that map is posted some retarded inbred faggot has to come up with that same trash comment as if that retarded inbred scum can't remember Hispanics weren't even 5% of the population back then or the fact that America took the area so easily because it was largely uninhabited by Mexicans outside of New Mexico.
>one of the few (very few) things current french government got right
LOL
Yeah, France totally has no problems with race or segregation at all and this lack of data totally not fuels right wing paranoia about population replacement and a government cover up.
>Indiana
>West Virginia
>White
bump
You’re fucking retarded.
He's right, West Virginia is one of the least white states in the country.
They should have conquered Mexico too
show me
The USA won the war and even paid them after they lost
