The only thing I can think of similar here is people putting their coin on the side of the pool table in a pub to reserve their place next in line for a game. Sometimes there will be 4 or 5 coins lined up and no one takes them or fucks with the order. Probably because you'll get knocked out by an angry bogan drunk on rum tho.
