Our Moldova is a special place. Drunken axe murders are nothing new, nor are gang rapes. They do get arrested though. Now a rapist serial killer in the South of Romania is making the news.
There are also a bunch of people from the republic that say it's better to be boss in your own back yard than be an irrelevant province in a bigger country. Doesn't stop a lot of them claiming Romanian citizenship so they can get that sweet EU passport.

Even the ones declaring themselves Romanians understand and speak Russian. Some TV channels are just in Russian. If you visit Chișinău you shouldn't have much problems but they do get rowdy when drunk and love to fight. I know a guy who beat the shit out of a taxi driver then got off the hook using bribes.
