I've been curious about European television. Are there many commercials? What is usually advertised? (For example, here in the states if it's something an old person would watch there will be advertisements about life insurance and medicine). Is nudity censored? What about swear words? How much does an average cable plan cost? Is cable TV slowly being phased out in favor of things like Netflix and YouTube?

I havent watched TV in years but swear words arent censored and some movies show tits.
Theres also camwhore ads late at night on some channels with tits.
Nobody uses Netflix, we just pirate.

He's talking about Europe, not your personal experience

Sounds pretty cool. I'm not too sure how to feel on swearing, in my opinion having a swear word censored on certain shows (I.E family guy, American Dad, and South Park) actually makes it funnier. But that's just me. Thanks for the insight German bro

Only americans censor swear words.

He's answering the question as he wants to, not as OP wants him to

I thought it was hard to pirate in Germany?

>Nobody uses Netflix, we just pirate.
this 100%

We have I think 12 minutes of adverts per hour by law under the EU, whereas the usa is about 18 minutes per hour, it doesn't sound like much difference, but it is.

We don't really care about adverts in the UK except for when it's Christmas time and companies put a lot of time and money into them

Who the fuck censors swear words here?

the retards here are projecting their piracy on to others

That must be nice having less adverts being thrown in your face when you're watching something you paid for. Hopefully something like that gets implemented over here.

>ads
hello boomer

You caught me

I don't think I've ever seen swearwords being censored. Nudity is generally allowed, with different degrees depending of the hour and the context, they're not going to air porn at 05:00 pm. Netflix is pretty widespread among young normies.

In the UK we got an extra segment of sesame street invented solely for us to make up for the time lost to commercial breaks in the USA

My.dad listens to sports radio, and half the ads are about boners and cumming, and people's need for help with that stuff.

Oh, and pay tv never really caught on here. Some people got it because of the sport channels, but other than that they're not really a big upgrade from our free stuff.

European TV networks can easily solve their "sped up american programs" problem (where 24fps programs are sped up so they can be shown at 25fps) but they don't because speeding programs up gives them a whole extra minute of ads every half hour.

Bump

it's a shame that you don't know french tv, it's extremely trashy

In Japan every second ad was some product shilling aimed at old people. Stupid shit like turtle pills and seashell pills meant to miraculously heal your joints and restore muscle somehow.

whenever i watch the pawnshop show that only has voiceover and still has the original american voice its just "beep beep beep beep beep"

wtf is this true

boomer channels censor bad words

québecois react to french commercials
