Here in Finland, back in my day at least we had Donald Duck pocket books which had Italian made Donald Duck comics and a weekly Donald Duck magazine which had mostly Northern/Central European origin comics. The former were considered vastly superior by all except the smallest of children.

Well yeah, all the best Donald Duck stories are by Italian-American Don Rosa. I also really like the Mickey Mouse detective stories and Donald Duck super hero stories that were in Donald Duck paperbacks.
