Why does Brasilia look desolate...

Why does Brasilia look desolate? Looks as if someone had said "let's establish our goverment here and some other buildings and just call it a city".

Doesn't look so bad.

North american anglos don't understand because all your cities are desolate too.

Not saying it looks bad but it reminds of that picture of an american city full of parking lots.

Looks like they tried to copy D.C. but I'll it with tall buildings instead

Planned cities are like that

At least there's grass in between roads instead of a massive concrete sprawl.

Do any Brazilians here live there? How does it compare to Rio and Sao Paulo?

Looks normal, you're just mad because there's no ancient medieval colonial buildings and shit

You talking about the us? because they are north american anglos too.

Sao Paulo looks like hell on earth. Highrise buildings as far as the eye can see.

Automobile age nightmare. Planners got so excited about the idea that everyone would have a car in the future, they built cities completely unnavigable by foot.

It was built in the middle of a hot Savannah climate, the cerrado.

It also killed Brazilian democracy but thats a story for another time.

>Looks as if someone had said "let's establish our goverment here and some other buildings and just call it a city".

isnt that literally what happened?

>Looks as if someone had said "let's establish our goverment here and some other buildings and just call it a city".
That exactly how it was. It was some gypsy president

>Why does Brasilia look desolate?
It's intentional. It was deliberately built right at the middle of the country.

>Looks as if someone had said "let's establish our goverment here and some other buildings and just call it a city".
It's not intended to be a city, it's more like a government facility.

Didn't they copy some french guy's idea for a city

Is Bolsonaro interested in moving back the capital to Rio or Salvador at all?

To put it in perspective, Sao Paulo, otoh, looks SOULful

Nope, absurd.

My home :)
its like living in a cyberpunk jungle

I have parents there. Good place, better than São Paulo or Rio
No It doesn't, it's one of the best capitals of Brazil, much better than Rio
Why should he?

based and metropolipilled

Looks better than every other city in Brazil

looks like a circuit board stuffed with components

Brasilia is literally the only city in Brazil that somewhat resembles an actual city.

Yeah it looks good from very high but if you look closer at it it's an impractical hellhole. There's this giant useless grassland that can't be used as a park and nowhere here feels like an actual city.
Like i'm sure that at night there's no one in that place

Concrete hell, does it at least look nice from the street ?

i've never heard of it, it seems like the government wanted to build a capital city like Pretoria and Canberra

they burn the forests

The product of urban planing mistakes. Leaving these huge empty spaces made city unlivable. Soviets also played with this shit.
