Only one of those is actually about feelings, anyway. It's not like I'm shooting myself in the foot by not buying defense contractor stock directly, there are plenty of other sectors that will do far better.
As I mentioned there, however, financial stocks hide risk, oil stocks are incredibly volatile and no matter if you think democrats or republicans are going to be in charge in 3 years there will be some major overhaul of healthcare.
As for the stocks I actually buy, I base it off of a strategy centered around whether the overall situation is late or early cycle. Since it's late cycle I'm focusing on low risk stocks, as well as those with little exposure to china in the event of a trade war. Hence DG is my biggest position.

AMRN is my short term Growth/Profit horse. By the end of this year I expect two things to happen:
1. The FDA get's off its ass and finally green lights it.
2. A legit buyout offer or two will get floated before the FDA ruling and I hope AMRN's board & shareholders will take the bags of cash and run. Reason I say before the ruling is that once it comes down the value will only go up so it will make it to costly to buy at that point.
The buyout rumor regarding Pitezer was just that a rumor; nothing substantiated.
The share price target is set at least 30, a buyout would double that to 60 at minimum. (Price is at 16 something now).

Also, speaking of teenage girl fads, Vans sneakers have made a resurgence in thus demographic. VF Corporation is parent company. They own Vans, The North Face, Timberland, Wrangler, and some other stuff. Very bullish chart in February. It's sitting right below an important resistance level right now. I want to see either a pullback to the inverse head & shoulders neckline or a high volume break through the resistance.

What are the best online free and paid options for learning TA (and intraday trading in general, e.g. monitoring L2 etc)? I'd be especially interested in any course or resource that actually challenges you to make use of indicators and identify price action patterns. Even if it was just a video that you're supposed to pause, identify the trend, then unpause to get the answer (and see how the chart plays out for the next few intervals).
