But to mine 0xbtc people have to put in hashpower=money to get them, and the price=difficulty depends on the demand ie how many other people are mining. Do you really prefer tokens that are created with a mouseclick and then dumped by the devs? You're only filling their pockets with cash if you buy them.

You're right, but using PoW for distribution is better than the current alternatives for chuckecheese tokens on ETH which is the one person makes the coin and then distributes then himself.
