Normie friend asked me what he should do to invest without having to do anything because the banks aren't giving him squat for sitting on savings. He's scared of going in crypto so I was thinking bonds, any you guys would suggest? Worth using a mutual fund? I had my eyes on VWEHX if so, but maybe going a safer fund like LBUSTRUU:IND would be better? thnx 4 spoonfeed bros

If the economy is so strong, why don't we raise interest rates?
Evan Myers
I have slowly come to the terrible revelation that none of you know what the fuck you are doing. I have a Master's in Accountancy with a Minor in Finance. I work for a fortune 100 as a corporate accountant with a CMA and CPA. I used to have some faith in user. None of you know how to actually value a company. You have no fucking clue how taxes work. You can't read financial statements. For fuck's sake you think TA works and the entire field of decision science churns out dissertations every other day highlighting their absolute dismay at the fact that brainlets ever consider using it. You have no idea what Dunning-Kruger is. You don't know what survivorship bias is. You are too fucking uneducated and stupid to comprehend how fucked you are.
Idk why I'm even posting this, fucking goodluck kids.
> wake up 'fuck yeah its monday' > check the calendar > only saturday i hate weekendssssss

One problem with "high-yield" bond funds like that is that they more closely follow trends in stocks, assuming you're trying to hedge against a downturn in stocks. See pic related. In general, if you're assuming that bond funds are a risk-free version of stocks with a lower yield, that is a mistake.
At the very least t-bills so the interest income is kept safe from state taxation. Opening a TreasuryDirect account is super easy as a US citizen and overlooked by many. I park some extra funds in a UBS ETN, CEFL. Anons also recommend SDYL.
Hudson Brown
ok but what if option D directly interferes with C and maybe A and kinda B too i guess
Evan Long
Going on TradingView and tuning your indicators and seeing what works.
Literally me every weekend.

I want a crash so I can buy bank stocks at the bottom
>lift takes effort >shooting costs money and is scary >having sex requires effort, skill, and leaving one's residence and engaging human interaction >being oneself results in sitting at home doing nothing but computer stuff
Aiden Richardson
>claims to be very well versed in finance and intelligent >just now comes to the relization that Jow Forums is full of financially illiterate retards
>love the excitement of market hours >making WAYY too many moves, buying meme stocks from /smg/ I used to be so cautious and cash heavy... stocks went down, I’d get excited for cheapies. Stocks went up, I’d feel good for my wise investing making money.
I’ve become trash. I’m those degenerates as seen on Kaiji.
I’ve got all my money in the market right now, almost. About 1/4 VTSMX/VTSAX, but also put a good chunk in VIIX in case Xi fucks us.
What the fuck is wrong with the tap water in New England? It’s SOUR, I don’t think I’m gonna make it boys There’s a ton of stuff, difference in premium, volatility, etc. Look up the black-scholes equation
Options let you control a lot of shares for a small amount of money for a limited time.
Josiah Turner
That’s what you say when you’re like 80 and you’ve hopefully made it, not when you need funds to afford a rent/home ownership, vehicle upgrades, buy time to establish value in your career (think paying for fluff and fold, Maid service, car service, etc.), keep up with the bare minimum of social demands (gotta have a smartphone and clothes) and finally afford courtship.
Doomers can’t think that way unless they have their shot on lockdown.
Driving through there was hell. Couldn't imagine living there. What a fucking shithole
Wyatt Perez
Maybe honestly. I read this on the plane ride, it was lowkey very good despite the cringey intro. Left hand path homosexual nigredo-alchemical sex magick. Is not the eye of Horus superior to the mouth of Isis?
>RKG won’t even give you the courtesy of telling you “no.”
WELL FINE I HOPE YOU GET WELL SOON THEN
Jose Thomas
its weird to me that you can buy like a 10$ option for like .03 when the stock is selling at 12$ am I lookin at it wrong or is there something stopping them from exercising the option?
Eli Cruz
Im gonna guess you were looking at the put column.
Leo Stewart
One day, not long from now, you will look back and say "I was in LCI. I was there when the record short squeeze happened. When the shorts were massacred."
That’s a big part of it lol. The gestalt is that the text presents itself as a manuscript that was being studied by the SS at wewelsberg (complete fabrication kek) that drove the nazis insane until they sodomized each other to death. It actually gets pretty interesting though, the author clearly has a relatively good understanding of thelemic/occultist cosmology. Ra-Hoor-Khuit and Nuit are mentioned explicitly alongside the Kabbalistic cosmic incest of Babalon and the Beast, and I guarantee whoever wrote it cribbed stuff from the O9A since it mentions the Acausal Universe. A big part of it is wholesale plagiarized from renaissance alchemical texts from Agrippa, but it’s done cleverly with the allegorical rituals perverted so they would lead to desecration of body and soul instead of purification. Also has some homoerotic scat play + rape stories with a Grail Knight who’s a sort of Fallstaff character, Evola would be furious kekkies
Also SPY gaps down on Monday, I’m not offtopic posting
Jeez sunny, that sounds like mostly nonsense with enough sensible words to sound interesting. Agrippa, I recognize that one. And gestalt, I’ve always been jealous of the gestalt psychodramas Shinji got during the final episodes of Evangelion.
Gestalt therapy might be more useful than the talk therapy I waste money on. I don’t have the imagination or memory to get the most out of it though.
You really think spy gaps down? You think my viix might be worth something?

What's the Jow Forums opinion on the current fuel cell hype? Have you invested?
be a better version of yourself, then that becomes the new yourself
Lincoln Price
I'm pretty familiar with the technology and engineering trade offs and I'm gonna tell you now that widespread adoption of fuel cell cars is neeeeeever gonna happen, if gasoline gets replaced it'll be by battery electric cars
Ryan Moore
they're pretty neat at providing power for spacecraft, though! but that's a very small market
Robert Morales
Tell them to buy a bunch of 5 year treasury bonds
Kayden Smith
24 years from now we'll be mining the asteroid belt and colonizing Mars, and there will be civilian freighters hauling supplies and goods from each destination using the Japanese-built space elevator; Brazilian moon base, Chinese space shipyard, American colony soil on Mars and military positions in the Belt; imagine the amount of spaceships that will exist to maintain these vast supply chains, all made possible by fuel cells.
Jackson Edwards
Fuel cell? I didnt know anyone was still pushing that meme. Fuel cells add to many additional energy exchanges, a fossil fuel car is much more efficient. Fuel cells will never happen cause its a shit idea that’s wildly inefficient
Nicholas Edwards
Ramscoop hydrogen then fuse it. Get the glowniggers at Lockheed's to stop sitting on their reactor
Parker Peterson
Buy puts on every Chinese company right now. Investors are getting out of any Chinese company that isn’t selling tangible merchandise. Tech, software, music, video games all of it but weekly puts and make serious bank China really fucked themselves in this trade shit
Angel Peterson
>TFW sold the last 20% of my portfolio in the market & put it in Tennesee Valley Authority Bonds.
Can you rerun your inversion bond chart with later start dates?
I wonder if extremely high bond rates of years past distorts the data.
Ian Peterson
do bonds ever lose you money or are the options limited to; >bank account tier yield if the economy does well >capital growth if the economy goes to shit
Nathaniel Harris
You can lose money if interest rates rise, because no one would want to spend full price for inferior bonds.
But the odds of interest rates rising are slim.
Jordan Rodriguez
VTGN
Hmm, after hours it still climbing. Plz hit least $2.30 next week. Sell you and make over double my money. Profit shall be mine. Once I make my Profit you can shit all you like.

Stocks on my screener (Volume based):
Tilray Halliburton Teva Pharma Kraft Tom Tailor (Xetra - Germany)
Any opinions?
Josiah Lopez
good job user. you're gonna make it. those were non callable bonds, right?
Levi Martin
addendum to that, you only loose money if interest rates rise AND you're selling the bond. You can always hold to maturity if you hold the physical bond.
Owen Cruz
>You can always hold to maturity if you hold the physical bond. what if it's a fixed interest etf, a mixture of corporate and treasury bonds?
Jeremiah Allen
if its an ETF you will be exposed to price fluctuations, that's just how etfs work.
David Torres
I had to buy them in a fund (TVC) since this is my IRA account.
Christian Ward
>Holding packaged corporate bonds
Yikes user. I think packaging in shit-bonds with treasuries is analogous to the packaging of shit mortgage debt in 2008.
Xavier Diaz
ah ok, that makes sense. You should be fine, unlike T bonds there's no risk of China dumping or anything
Jayden Collins
then what about this?
i just want to move my 50k out of shares because i'll likely be buying a house in a few years so i'm investing like a 90 year old
You should be able to see an even greater breakdown somewhere to find out if those sovereign funds are for Venezuela or some shit.
Oliver Reed
Yes! Exciting
Austin Brown
it's 100% aus i'm just wondering if it's even worth holding over cash

spring time, people are sipping beer in the sun / fishing / riding motorbike / riding water jets you should too ;O
Nobody goes outside anymore. To many crazy people with guns , Drug dealers, or Pedos roaming around these days. Hell a lot of states now let you carry guns without having to get a concealed carry permit. So you can walk around strapped like they did in the old West days and no one can say shit.
Here's my chart of the week. Also, silver's been trading very strongly correlated to the dollar the past couple of weeks. This may not hold, but I'd certainly be watching it. Look at the hourly from the past 2 weeks in my next post.
Options are ultra leveraged to the point of massive returns whereas the underlying takes a much longer time to return. Options let plebs control $1,000,000 worth of stock for only a couple hundred/thousand at most.
Evan Allen
I swear MarketWatch is literally paid to write nothing but doom and gloom articles. Every time the market dips a bit they spout RECESSION DRUMPFFF CHINA but when the market is good it’s HEY CHECK OUT THIS GUY WHO SPENDS 5K ON HIS PUPPY like seriously nothing ever positive comes from there who the fuck runs that shitshow?
shit, just now realized that i'm old enough to have fathered an 18 yr old kid. Where did the time go? My net worth is only 41k, fuck this shit. I should have least 60k by now. fuck i hate being poor.
Thomas Clark
guys...is baidu a buy?
Jason Garcia
At least your career is going well and you’ve found an adequate wife. ...right?
Lucas Edwards
Why is a stock like BKS so worthless? Is it because everyone thinks we're edging up against no one buys books, or is it anti brick and mortar sentiment?
Blake Powell
I'll try to do it tonight, 9:00 mountain Time Prepare for disappointment, but I should get my fair Lady to work
Wyatt Hill
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
So, what you’re saying is, let silver come down EVEN MORE as the xinese devalue their currency and raise the international value of the dollar, and THEN buy silver?
