I think a good layer of enamel is far more aesthetic than the color of the teeth. Unfortunately most scrub off the enamel to make them show the white again. That's way less appealing than having stained teeth with good enamel

can we guess what happens when dentists have strong financial incentive to let your teeth go bad so they can fix it?
