Immigration from Mexico isn't really that big a problem, it is the central Americans that are a bigger problem. But there is a lot of illegal border crossing of Mexicans associated with human and drug trafficking. That and NAFTA are why Trump flipped the blue wall, and why here in Ohio even the Democratic senator is now campaigning on ending NAFTA/free trade agreements.
It's really only (((New Yorkers))) who are at all interested in trying to nation-build Mexico. Those of us actually affected by the porous border support a hardline stance.

I think I've read that students in DC get if not the most money per pupil damn near the most. Yet their academic results are way worse than Utah which spent the least amount per student. Funding matters to a degree, but ultimately it's the priorities of the family and student that determine the end results
