Thats because this is a silly loophole. Everyone knows nationality is race/ethnicity. Irish are genetically Irish, not because they all live in the nation called Ireland, but because they're largely homogenous and of the same race/ethnicity.

Democrats are. Republican's racism is based on facts and observable trends, where as democrat's racism is based on feelings and delusion.

Republicans are more casually racist, but also more accepting. Democrats are much more PC, but also very intolerant. Most people lie somewhere in the middle.
The problem is the extremes. Go too far right, and you have people that want to self segregate and focus on economic issues. Go too far left and you get people that want to tear down the system and focus on social issues.
