If the cultures in question share some values and origin by geographic proximity or similar beliefs, multiple different cultures can integrate and get along.
If you bring in some people from the other side of the globe who thinks the TV is a ghost in a box and regularly fucks goats to a culture where this isn't the norm, integration doesn't happen because there is too little common ground. Instead, a splinter forms between the different cultures and they segregate into isolated areas. Eventually this leads to conflict if the foreign communities becomes large enough.

In order to be a true multiculturalist, you have to demand others be a monoculturalist. If everyone is as culturally promiscuous and enlightened as you, then there will be less diversity to go around since everything will just be mutt culture; In order to preserve the diversity you cherish, you have to demand other people hold on to ignorant, backwards beliefs (e.g. Islam, niggers acting like nigs, etc). Multiculturalism is rooted in cultural relativism, which is rooted in moral relativism, which is rooted in epistemic relativism, which can't be true, because the statement "There are no truths" self-contradicts itself and can not be a true statement.

Cultures with too many differing core values rarely get along. Asian people diverse well into American society because their core principle value is to respect authority.
Illegal immigrants have no respect for authority and end up committing a larger percentage of the total crime per capita committed by hispanics.
We have enough problems trying to assimilate African Americans into social norms of civilized society. U.S. does not need more people that refuse to assimilate into our culture.
