Greyhound racing is almost dead in the US. The number of tracks is down to just a handful, since Millennials have failed to sustain the sport. Horse racing is going the same way, though hardcore gamblers keep it a bit more afloat than the dog tracks. Like it or not, greyhound racing is a longstanding part of TRADITIONAL America, the kind you guys claim to miss. It was very common for men to go to the track after work with their buddies and "bet on the puppies" while having a fee drinks. Why have Millennials abandoned this experience?

dogs are for eating, not racing
Millennials don't gambel in real life. They only sit at home and gambel on their pc. These sports where only ment for gambel
My dad said the dog track was a place for losers when I was 7 and asked about it after seeing commercials. When I turned 23 and started being able to afford college some 21 y/o check complained about how she worked poker tables at one and it was filled with 40+ alcoholics who chain smoked and hit on her
doesn't seem like anything of value is being lost
Gambling is for low IQ people who believe in luck and think they deserve something good to happen to them for no reason.
I went to the race track as a little kid and I just remember catching a shit ton of toads. They were nearly everywhere down by the fence.
Gambling is fucking gay
>heeeeere comes lucky
A bit of a coincidence that this thread should be here as I just got back from walking my two greyhounds. I don't race them at tracks but at coursing meetings. Both track racing and coursing don't seem to be as popular as they used to be but where I live coursing is still quite popular.
Nothing of value lost, except for how they'll treat the dogs afterwards. Traditionally they just exterminate them after they no longer win races.
"Animals as human entertainment" needs to go the way of money organ grinders or Russian dancing bears.
It's lowbrow and its cruel and its perpetrated by retards.
It's not culture worth keeping.
>Greyhound racing is almost dead in the US.
If only NASCAR will go the same way - left turning for hours at a time is not a sport.
In the UK, they abandon the dogs or worse when they are too old to win races. Pikey cunts.
they're really impressive beasts
I know lots of millenials who love going to Churchhill Downs and Keeneland here in Kentucky. Fake news!
golf
baseball
also dying or dead.
Holy fuck that is a huge bear. What happens if it just decides to swipe his head off and run away??
If he dies he dies.
Mabye because there are better things to do?
That bear has been brutalized and demoralized to such an extent... plus the nose ring on a leash for pain compliance...
But if it dead, and I wish it would, that guy would be in a lot of trouble.
In an ideal fantasy lifetime, I'd travel around the world putting bullets into the heads of animal-abusing fucks like that.
^this
I kind of feel bad for the bear.
They are impressive when you see them on open ground in full flight.

>TFW watching basebore right now
I wonder ((((((who)))))) is behind this
This Canadian Gook in America is right.
>3 hours of boredom
>4 seconds of excitement
It's totally worth it, right user?
Baseball can be like a good thriller. It's been tense and spaghetti moments tonight.
I agree. Im not a fan of the "sport" if animals are treated poorly. Horse racing they treat the animal much better imo. Dog racing though...
What game are you watching?
I suppose you would be offended by how they race the dogs in the middle east then. It is a pity we still do do it here minus the vehicles.

The one near me decided to turn into a poker room and that's what draws the most business there. Pretty sweet because I enjoy playing in some tournaments from time to time.
Racing dogs are generally very well treated, they are fragile af and the smallest thing throws them off their game so it benefits the owner to take care of them.
Yep, it's pretty sad seeing those bears in particular. No animal deserves that sort of treatment but seeing big powerful bears having it done to them is just really sad to me, I don't understand how people can look at it and be entertained more than disgusted
Rookies Doyers
fuck this shit
many things are worth saving, but not this
Do they still let the monkeys ride the dogs?
>4-0
>bottom of the 7th
Worth watching? I've already seen Tucker tonight and I'm looking for something to entertain me.
Oh no, it's 2-2 in the 7th, and worth watching.
nvm
I'll tune in, thanks. Sorry, I misread your pic earlier.
1. gambling is a vice for people with more money than brains
2. Greyhounds belong as pets in homes, not treated like garbage in the racing scene
>Being this ignorant
You can find trends in racing like you can in the stockmarket, very profitable.
racing is all rigged, it's designed to make money for insiders. if you aren't an insider or friends with one you won't make any money
Yeah, I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I wanted to spend my weekend watching rednecks turn left, I'd put a yard sale sign on each corner of my block pointing that way. Wouldn't be as fast, but there'd probably be just as many crashes.
it's a relaxing sport, niggers and lower i.q people don't like it because stimulation isn't happening constantly
drone racing

There's a lot of strategy to baseball that people unwilling to study it don't understand. Not that I really watch it that much, I have a 21st century attention span.
Because most people are stupid, heartless scum.
It's really that simple.
Intelligent people who have genuine and heartfelt concern for animals and other living things are a small minority in the world; and they exist mostly in White Western countries.
Gambling is stupid as all fuck.
The only boomer activity I'm sad that's disappearing is the World War II reenactment scene. Not enough vets to fill the ranks, not enough history buffs to care, and all the equipment is essentially history relics and not cheaply bought anymore like it was in the 70's-90s.
I went to a greyhound racetrack and have never seen such a large gathering of degenerate scum in my life. I'd rather watch my whippets run in an open field and not have to deal with the degenerate scum. I wish hare and rabbit coursing was legal here in the U.S.. I took my whippets to a lure coursing event and one of them injured her paws running into the line that drags the lure.
Baseball and everything like it are just bread and circuses for dumb goyim who are easily-entertained and have childlike interests.
NASCAR is fucking retarded; however, thanks to retards spending big bucks to watch it, it's led to many, many advancements in automobile design.
Agreed except they're high-energy and need room to run.
People only watched animals race because they were bored out their minds and there was nothing good on TV.
Fuck your racing incel faggot
Small percent are rigged. Horses that win come from the top 5 in the market.
your vice is shit old man, i will dance on your grave
Instead of shooting people in the head, shoot the bear's ass with a BB gun
A few years ago they renovated the field across our house for the sport of "coursing" - which is letting loose greyhounds to chase a rabbit. It's a known blood sport as the rabbit occasionally is killed. It is pretty surreal that people from far and wide flock to this field once a year for it. My mother encouraged me to protest it as it is a barbarian practice. Last year I wanted to take a picture of the large crowd in the field and some prick told me off for invading his sense of privacy. When it's basically my field every other day of the year.
You have to played baseball as a kid to like it. The stats and coaching choices and everything you learn about over years. You can't suddenly start watching as an adult.

>gambling
No thanks
because we dont care
Gambling has always been for degenerate losers.
Nice try though, Schlomo.
>implying millenials have money to gamble
>implying anybody other than boomers have money to gamble
>for low IQ people who believe in luck and think they deserve something good to happen to them
So it should be millennials' favorite pastime.
Greyhounds are lazy fucks who only need a relatively short walk once a day. They built for explosive speed over short distances and walking them too much can be bad for them. A sprint once every 2 weeks keeps them in good condition
Maybe I assumed wrong, then. My bad.
>Gambling is stupid as all fuck.
Of all forms of gambling, lotteries are the stupidest.
For someone who claims to live across the way from a coursing field you don't seem to know much about the sport. No rabbits have ever been killed at a coursing event, hares have though. also the dogs are muzzled and the hare is given a large head start to get to the gate and safety. Once a hare has been used it is usually returned back to wild after each meet. Having a dog kill a hare is considered bad, not only for the hare but also dog, some fucks intentionally blood their dogs but it makes them unpredictable and harder to manage, personally I'd never buy a blooded greyhound, you're buying a dog with problems
It only happens once a year, and I only take a peak in. I've not witnessed any bloodshed although my mother claims at least in the past it was brutal. It winds me up a bit that they would add all this fencing and sheds to the field just for this one dumb event once a year.
