When my grandma was younger she went to the hospital and got to eat turkey every day. It was ok the first few days but after the second week of turkey she went cold on it. She never had turkey again in her whole life. Fuck turkey.

Where I lived at the time, there were barely any niggers. The handful that did exist knew better than to act like niggers. There were serious landmark events that divided each race in the 90s but it was only accessed through news outlets. This forced everyone outside of the home to actually discuss with one another face to face. I think this more personable non anonymous approach made things more civil

I was in high school in the late 80s and early 90s. In my school of over 3,000 students, there was just one black kid. One. His nickname was Blackdude. That's even how he introduced himself. We had like six or seven Asian kids, mostly Korean adoptees or the hapa offspring of Vietnamese war brides. There were a brother and sister who were Hindoos, whose dad was some kind of engineer at a nearby chemical plant. Everyone else was white. Those were the days.

I agree with most of your points, I would disagree in saying that the internet had nothing to do with it. Sure the net was around in the 90’s but it was much more difficult for normies to use and was seen as a geek thing until near the end of the 2000’s. However the emergence of popular social media platforms and the ease of accessing the internet (even an air headed thot or a Boomer can tweet or post on Facebook more or less competently through their iPhone) has created an environment where you can be bombarded with “outrage” every waking moment of the day. Liberals ruined race-relations, but the internet has amplified their propaganda because they are able to transmit their message in a snarky 140 characters sentence in such volume and frequency that it makes it seem as though the whole media environment is saturated with that message.

In the 90's, "people of colour" were put on TV so that "people of colour" would watch it. Typically they played roles that were appropriate and dealt with race like it's dealt with in reality, that's why Fresh Prince was interesting. His uncle was a black judge, he was from the ghetto. Sometimes he dealt with racism. Sometimes they made fun of white people. No one cared, everyone loved it.

These days, they just have black actors playing white people on TV to create diversity. They switch roles with existing characters, there is no creativity. Being black is no longer a thing. They would never make a show like Fresh Prince anymore, they would just reboot Friends with an all Indian cast and it would bomb.

In the 90's, I don't think people were typically all that racist. People were pretty well exposed to old McHammer, Vanilla Ice was aloud to rap too. There were cartoons about black kids that no one blinked at, blacks had controlled the pop music industry for a long time.
In the 2000's, all of a sudden everyone was being accused of racism because they enjoyed the American black culture, and now we are in backwards land.
