As someone who studies Paleoclimatology and atmospheric sciences - I hope you are acutely aware of how much the world is fucked. We've gone past the point of no return on this. Short of inventing something that actively scrubs CO2 from the air (your only option truthfully), the planet will continue to warm unabated and its only going to get worse. I have little to no faith in humanity/governments coming together to "beat this" - especially as the overall standard of living rises for underdeveloped countries who will soon be polluting just as bad as we do right now. The best you can do is adapt, and hope to god its not you the climate dice rolls for in the future. Wars, famines, droughts - these are all the very real things that my generation has to prepare for.
And the saddest part? We knew all about this back in the 60s - we could have stopped it then but we didn't. There will be a lot of bitterness in my generation about the world you are leaving us, to put it lightly.
(sorry, it's late and I'm feeling a tad more doom and gloom than usual)
>There will be a lot of bitterness in my generation about the world you are leaving us, to put it lightly. Who you talking to?

There will be changes, but it isn't a catastrophic doomsday like you people like to preach. Some animals die out, some thrive, lots and lots of ecological changes and new challenges for humanity.
Cameron Rodriguez
the biggest threat to the biosphere are the nuclear reactors, if they all blow then nothing will grow for a few thousand years
Jordan Martinez
>humanity/governments coming together to "beat this" The classic watermelon, green on the outside, red on the inside. Why is the punchline for your Earth Mother worship cult always end in world government and some kike taxing a pile of shekels out of western civilization?
The only solution is to sow even more strife and economic trouble so that we can have one more, final, great war that purges enough of the population.
Colton Ramirez
Runaway greenhouse effect due to melting permafrost is the only real global concern. Anything else will simply shift population centers around. A 5c warmer earth might not be able to support the current number of humans but it would still support enough to continue civilization. The permafrost issue though, yeah, if the math is right we're fucked. Otherwise humanity as a whole will be fine even if some groups of humans suffer.
Noah Wright
exactly. that's why i'm voting straight democrat for the midterms

>back in the 60s No, that's when they were (correctly) warning us about global cooling.
>global cooling why are hurricanes going ballistic? from all the cooler than usual water?
Isaiah Peterson
Why? You will die too, so you won't be enjoying the fruits of living in a 'supa peaceful green earth if love and friendship. Are your glasses so severely rose tinted that you think killing billions of people to allow some fucking pandas and tigers to survive longer is a good thing?
Jacob Ramirez
This. One of the main reasons why I supported Trump from day one. We need reeeeing on all sides and then bam! Conflict.
Liam Cooper
we need trump impeached or assassinated

You do know that even if climate changes we'll just adapt, and that we can just use gigantic mirrors or lens to put a sun shield in an orbit between earth ans the sun, and if there was an economic incentive this will happen.

Give us a co2 emissions breakdown by industry then.
Break each industry up into worst-offending-companies by percentage.
What emits more co2 per annum, all computers on earth, incl. datacenters and bitcoin mining, or the logging industry?
Don't call me a shill when you're applying neanderthal reasoning to a problem that's easily solved by reviewing the data, you brainlet.
Jaxon Thomas
>Short of inventing something that actively scrubs CO2 from the air They're called trees you massive fucking dumbass. 90% of a tree is made from CO2.
>plants dont live in hot conditions 100% fake news. Trees existed during all the previous dinosaurs ages when the temperature was +15 Celsius, the CO2 was 2,000 ppm, and there was no surface ice Earth.

>hurrhurr eat the blackpills nothing really mattress goyim The truth is you don't have any data whasoever to justify the catastrophist claim that the climate is highly sensitive to CO2 changes. There are many other factors that are responsible for changing the climate than just CO2 like ocean currents, solar activity, etc. Guess what, temperatures were higher in roman and minoan era than they are today. How will mankind ever recover.
Oliver Fisher
>And the saddest part? We knew all about this back in the 60s - we could have stopped it
How? Wipe out the third world to prevent them from developing? It would never had happened. We lack the cold-heartedness necessary to solve the problem. No one is willing to cull the human species to manageable levels.
Ethan Wood
> Short of inventing something that actively scrubs CO2 from the air
The technology for this has been around since at least around 2011 - 2014. Here it is in National Geographic in 2018:
not only did the eocene see a boon in plant growth and diversity at higher latitudes but a global increase in plant diversity, not just mass die offs.
Matthew Kelly
In 300 years the earth will be 30 degrees hotter Omg we gotta do something
Camden Morales
>Short of inventing something that actively scrubs CO2 from the air Those are called trees you fucking retard. Photo simplecyst is literally the process of scrubbing CO2 from the atmosphere and turning it into O2 and sugar.
>best you can do is adapt What's that, the thing that humans do better than literally every other species? In the mean time, the humans who's ancestors couldn't be bothered to go somewhere better all due out. Oh well.
Oliver Jones
fuck off we're full
Nathan Thompson
You misunderstand, your ancestors went somewhere better already as did mine. The people in the shit holes will whine but stay put until it's too late for most of them.
Benjamin Diaz
I want to know how they remove the CO2.
Luis James
The amount of shills in this thread is astounding
I get the that global jew has attached itself to global warming, and fucking hippie and liberal morons think have made it seem like "Earth is in trouble" when its really not.
Make no mistake anons, when the earth warms up another 2 degrees globally, we're fucked. Runaway climate change will happen and the earth will continue to heat up without any chance of us reversing it.
As a result, earth will erradic weather, crops will die (literally except for s.oy and corn, no meming) and most likely if war and famine didnt kill most of the population, we'll probably die off from the earth being unihabitble by like 2050.
Honestly, we're fucked. Enjoy your last remainimg 20 years or so, no one's going to jew out for the world government and as long as liberals abd kikes forfront global warming, no one will believe it until its too late. This is truly the fault of fucking baby boomers and kikes, and now everyone else is paying the price.
wtf do you mean by "remove?" If you want the inaccessibly CO2 gone, you either shoot it into space or bury it deep underground. Why would you do that anyways; just make more trees and paper products instead.
Michael Hall
>Runaway climate change
Do you understand that we're currently living in an Ice Age you low information idiot? Do you understand that for most of Earth's history, including the Dinosaur Times, the planet was +15 degrees?
Lucas Morgan
Keep meming you faggot, what fucking proof do you even have for us living in an ice age?
Colton Stewart
>what fucking proof do you even have for us living in an ice age?
I can't believe you don't know these basic climate science facts; the libs really did a number on your brain.
Pic-related is a rough diagram of the temperature over time, we are currently at a low point in Earth's history. Note that trees as tall as skyscrapers and dinosaurs as big as houses were living around the hothouse period.
>wtf do you mean by "remove?" If you want the inaccessibly CO2 gone, you either shoot it into space or bury it deep underground. Why would you do that anyways; just make more trees and paper products instead. Need a very large area consisting of the scrubbers. Even if you had square miles of the stuff, it’d be a drop in the ocean.
As far as solutions go, it’s not the best, because you’re going to be running an obscene amount of energy to get a very small amount of CO2.
>shoot it into space
Cost more CO2 than getting it from the air
>bury it deep underground
This can work if we could get the CO2 that easy from the air. This alone cost energy what is important to reducing CO2
Jeremiah Thomas
this "person" is a literal shill
Robert Jenkins
Why don't we just grow huge amounts of trees then? We can select species that grow very fast. Trees are about as close as we can get to devices that turn atmospheric CO2 into solid blocks of carbon. You don't have to expend a huge amount of energy to plant trees either; and you can use the paper products to replace a lot of plastic currently used.
Brandon Martin
The difference is that these global temperature changes happened over hundreds or thousands of years. Flora and fauna had time to adapt. If the change is now 2°C over like 50 years we're in some deep shit.
Lincoln Brooks
CO2 is 0.05% of the atmosphere, If you think something that dissipated can cause a fatal increase in temperature, you need to go back to look at the properties of CO2 molecules at a basic chemical/physical level. The current atmospheric models and projections are based on wild fantasies on the properties of CO2 from 200 year old experiments that haven't been updated for the modern world.
Fuck that and fuck you. Drink bleach and hang yourself
Jaxon James
we're probably younger than you, retard
keep making wild predictions. they're a lot of fun!
Matthew Parker
>The difference is that these global temperature changes happened over hundreds or thousands of years >If the change is now 2°C over like 50 years we're in some deep shit.
That's true, but based on what I know about climate science, there aren't really any mechanisms that are strong enough to cause that kind of change that fast. Even when the meteor (supposedly) hit the dinosaurs back then, the climate change took hundreds of years to effect.
Xavier Cruz
2019? Whatchu talking about?
Oliver Wilson
C02 doesnt do shit when it comes to warming anything. The " Greenhouse effect" is a meme they cant link the causality between warming and C02. C02 is the best thing ever for the environment plants love C02

Meanwhile, Fukushima is not emitting any CO2 at all. Dat good, right?
Brayden Hernandez
Radiation is a lot easier to deal with compared to the potential effects of CO2 on long term human survivability. The damage that radiation causes is very localized. It can't spread out and change the climate.
Adrian Hill
>something that actively scrubs CO2 from the air >he thinks this hasn't already been invented danish "intelligens"
