Jordan Peterson.

the right wing doesn't have one because right-wingers are retarded

He said right wing.

Adolf Hitler

true, still waiting on a Zizek vs Peterson debate, although Zizek would destroy lil Pete

Based and redpilled

Kek you're right

He is extremely good at dodging self-redpilling. Eventually he will become the right wing version of himself.

Dugin i guess
Or houellebecq

>He's from a war ravaged part of europoor
Orly? Tell me about my country amerimutt

>why is he so interesting
He does a lot of blow

I hope God kills all americans.

Hes fine to read, but I cant follow a thing the cunt says its just noises and sniffing

Zizek can barely string together a coherent sentence.

Hes pretty unlistenable to someone who isn't a severe masochist

Olavo De Carvlho
Douglas Murray

Someone give me the quick rundown on Zizek?

>What's the right wings version of this guy
That would be the noted white supremacist, Slavoj Zizek:
>2014 has not been a banner year for superstar Marxist philosopher Slavoj Žižek. First, there was a viral video of him appearing to sneer with disdain at the very students whose rapt sycophantism makes his career possible. And now, he’s been accused of the worst professorial misdeed of them all: plagiarism. And not just any plagiarism—plagiarism of a 1999 article in American Renaissance, a white supremacist magazine published by an organization that the Southern Poverty Law Center has designated a “hate group.”

He assumes that the listener knows all the references to other philosophers. If you have a jungle education then it sounds like constant sniffing and snorting.

Not that I agree what he's saying though.

Take the zizekpill

Ironically, Zizek's view of Christianity is more coherent and heartfelt than Peterson's.

This.

I remember watching a documentary of his. This dudes life sounds comfy but It's hard to understand what he's really talking about besides "break free from ideology". Are there any sources I can have to understand him better?

>Zizek would destroy Pete
Kek, Zizek already slandered Jordan Peterson before in a blog post. He is a weasel that only a retard would take seriously.

I miss him...

(also )
Best way to understand Zizek is too understand his main influences: Hegel, Lacan (and Freud) and of course Marx
He is in love with psychoanalysis and his main focus is to explain why people remain in this abusive relationship with capitalism and USSR-style communism. He tries to combine Freud/Lacan with Marx using Hegels dialectic.
It's best to think about Zizek as trying to address a very specific question: what is the impact of capitalism on mental health? Or, what personal habits and ideas of mine come from capitalism? Not a bad line of thought at all. The starting point for Zizek is that people aren't actually aware of their lives. It's like they're sleepwalking, following the latest trends and norms, unaware of how contingent and ungrounded society actually is. So here we get to Zizek's number one enemy: ideology. When he uses the word ideology he does not mean something like "opinion" or "grand program". No, when Zizek uses the word ideology, he means a kind of a brainwashing false consciousness. I find that the best way to describe ideology is through examples and metaphors. One example is that ideology is "what you don't know that you do you know", or that "a fish that could talk wouldn't have a word for water". Another way of describing it is that ideology is the social map of life, what's supposed to happen in life. In other words, social norms are so everyday to us that we don't even notice that we abide by them. This is a very valuable insight that shouldn't be rushed over. Everyday consciousness supports capitalism.

Nick Land

Or Moldbug, though I prefer Land

"IF YOU WERE AMERICAN, WHO WOULD YOU VOTE FOR?"

"TRUMP"

>durr you're pretty stupid if you think that means he supports trump

the intellect of leftists continues to astound

Yes. Land is Zizeks counterpart. Both are amphetamine addicted geniuses who base their politics on continental philosophy and understand capitalisms accelerationism of society

Zizek is kind of right wing.
>tells people to read Breivik's manifesto
>tells politicians and media they should listen to complaints about migrants
>says all past forms of communism are fantasy and should die
>warns against totalitarian communist censorship he experienced in Yugoslavia
>said the UK riots were the result of 'the state temporary collapsing and only consumerism remaining as the primary ideology' as reasons for the mass looting

Zizek and Peterson are both psychoanalysists so would probably agree with each other. Zizek's whole deal is he takes Freud, Lacan and Hegel, all famous psychoanalysts, then tries to interpret them through the commodity theory in Das Kapital to explain the hysteria in the world. He is merely a political theorist trying to get people to think up more political theory instead of recycling the junk from the 20th century. He's right, we've had the same shitty systems since forever it's time for a new system, and it could be conservative theory that doesn't involve capitalism which is another dinosaur of the previous centuries.

Zizek is also surprisingly """fascist""" in that he says duty to the state like in Nazi Germany is a more noble goal than our present hedonism where your duty is to 'happiness' and other selfish goals.
People are unhappy because our only political ideology right now is 'to pursue happiness' they have no sense of community or duty to each other, or common struggle.

Another very curious phenomenon (which Zizek may or may not have been mentioned) is that people appear locked to established ideologies when it comes to considering alternatives.

People label themselves fascists, or capitalists, or communists, or socialists, or anarchists, like the ideologies are the names of the roads they are able to walk down, and walking down a certain road involves adopting a certain set of norms.

But there is no need to adopt an ideology as a package. Every element of politics can be tweaked.

Basically, people show a strong tendency to want to place both themselves and others into categories.

It might be cognitive self-protection, that life without categories is just too complex to think about.

I agree, I included him mostly because he's often brought up alongside land. He is most definitely inferior though.

I've always loved this one.

The entire movie 'Perverts Guide to Ideology' is Zizek lite yet still a massive redpill vimeo.com/280081736

imagine being so stupid that you think zizek would vote for a fascist because he supports fascism

jesus fucking christ the absolute state of Jow Forums in 2018 is embarrassing

Thanks for that anyways but I said I understand him in written word but in interviews I literally can't follow what he says in interviews, it's exhausting to listen to, I know he had some mental tick but it's torture to my ears and I rarely get through any video of him I've ever seen.

There are no (((intellectuals))) on the right because it's a self-masturbatory term for anybody too lazy to actually work but likes to hear the sound of their own voice

kek

Alexandre Dugin

I honestly don't understand how anyone listens to Moldbug. Moldbug just doubles down on shitty arguments (we should embrace monarchy over democracy because authoritarian communism claims to derive power from the people?). Zizek is a lunatic, but is at least amusing.

recursive masturbation with no guarantee the loop terminates

We can't understand him when he's speaking Slovene as well. His speech defect is part of his icon.

hes a mentally ill freak who deserves a bullet as mercy

>self-masturbatory
As opposed to the other kind?

Your post here is irrelevant. I have no idea how you define fascism, or whether you think Zizek or Trump is fascist.

Zizek literally states - in the linked video - that he would vote for Trump and was very opposed to voting for Hillary.

This justifies saying that Zizek was pro-Trump and anti-Hillary.

I recognize that the leap from what zizek literally states to the "this justifies" part might be an insurmountable intellectual leap for a leftist.

Not eve philosophy, but pseudoscience.

It's a modern tragedy that Malenia is not Zizek's bitch, ironicaly she got whored out to the biggest capitalist of them all TRUMP. Zizek's big slovenian cock seeks its revenge.

I started by reading Voltaire's Bastards then began to doubt everything. Then I walked into Jow Forums and left with my ideology totally erased wondering how it was possible I considered myself free while living in total self delusion of invisible dictatorship within democracy. So I looked around for material on this at my university library and found Zizek the most impossible to understand critic of modern society yet somehow it made perfect sense. Now I'm here for the maymay and happenings because none of my media can be trusted.

It's also amusing to me whenever I go to 'the people's bookstore' here to buy a new Zizek book, the all black wearing commie behind the counter goes off on a rant how Zizek is "generally right wing" and it will be his last book they carry, yet somehow they always stock the latest one.

Kek that gooks face has my sides

You literally have no idea what you're talking about. This is a horrible summary of Zizek's work and theory - not just badly simplified, completely off the mark entirely.

Very illuminating critique. Conversely, I thought it was quite good.

This. Both are vapid and boring.

yeah i mean they are really stupid which is not surprising

I think it was quite self-masturbatory if I do say so myself

Of course you didn't bother with your own summary, so are just bait.
