I've gotten a lot out of Dostoevskys books, Schopenhauer as well. I would recommend war and peace of you want a challenge this winter, but i think you need to have an interest in the Napoleonic wars and that era along with the history of russia specifically.

Opinion on Will Durant? Currently reading Story of Civilization volumes for a general survey of world history. I really like his prose, and though he writes with an assumption that the Enlightenment is absolutely valid, I can pick out his bullshit. Like when he says that the conditions of geography are the cause of Civilization rather than the founding stock. I can read with that kind of skepticism so it has been very valuable.
Anyone have an opinion on his works? He is a wholesome Christian guy, but he married a Jew who converted who helped him with the series...so that's my biggest concern.

I got nothing from das capital. it is pablum. literally wasted a week of my life. it gives no insight into the enemy. it is literally a tool of indoctrination and slavery. the only value it gave to me was reinforcment that all economic theory, especially Max Weber is enemy inspired as is all philosphy which followed Thomas Moore. Philosophy is dead, Only action matters
That's what I've seen from his quotes later in life. Looks like he became semi red-pilled near the end. I love the way he writes because he writes as if history is a fiction book, he really paints a picture in your head of the time period, the art, the architecture, the way of life, the hierarchy, the wars and conquests, the kings and their regal spirit, it's all so captivating.
