Trump doesn't need house for a fairly decent margin of things. True, he lost house majority but here's the thing about that.
A lot of seats were empty due to folks retiring, a lot of folks running in uncontested areas, etc. A lot of new blood was introduced to the house. A lot of these people are moderate democrats which Trump could easily appeal to. Granted, he will need House for a number of things, but this comes to my next point.
Secondly, for many things he could simply go through Senate and the SCOTUS to get several things done without even bothering with the house. Why do you think Trump campaigned for people for Senate seats and not house seats? Trump WANTED the Senate. Sure the House could raise a stink about it but that's all they can do. When you control the SCOTUS and Senate, you really don't need the house. Executive Orders also exist.
Third, it's nothing new that the house flips almost every time new elections come up. Also as a frame of reference, Obama during his worst midterm lost more seats and senate, compared to Trump.
