do i NEED to give some notice when i quit a job? i am pretty unhappy at my current job and have been for a while, ive only worked here 2 months but i did sign a contract and i cannot be bothered to go through like 100 pages looking for the bit about that specifically. I know if i was employed on a casual basis/rate then i could just up and leave if i want to but because im being paid the full time rate and i have taken advantage of what little benefits ive earned so far also the company did pay for some things i needed for work i was just wandering if i owe them that to give notice before i quit. i found a new job and it pays a lot more but its just casual atm, it seems sorta risky jumping ship for more money but as a casual but i want to link up with my old mates again and i know ill be happier

You never need to give a notice but you'll never be able to use them as a reference if you up and leave. In some fields you may end up blacklisted if you leave without a notice.

What's the job? Also can you, like, use capital letters and paragraph breaks where appropriate?

Unless it's a minimum wage job, you should give 2 weeks. And for professional level work, I usually give a bit more, just to ensure that my projects are transitioned properly.

considering they didnt even look at my cv when they hired me i dont even care, even though i did a lot of good work in the last two months i could probably live without having them as a ref
administrative work for a huge greenhouse, and the irrigation and ventilation systems
im young so im getting $19 an hr plus entitlements and a productivity allowance which is pretty much minimum wage in my country. my new job will offer me 35 an hr but as a casual hm

Normal courtesy is 3 month notice plus 1 month for each year you've worked there. At least that's my experience with US employers.

If your contract doesn't say anything, you're not legally bound to anything. but the 3 + (1*Y) is "polite".

In europe it's different, I guess. All of my scandinavian employers have had 3 months flat. Basically, the more you honor that, the better impression you'll leave. As soon as I've decided to quite _at one point_, I let them know, even if the timeframe hasn't been decided yet.

>i hate all the cunts there
KEK
OH NO

You should probably bother to look for the bit about termination and quitting.

Your contract is not 100 pages you fsggot.

i think some emoloyor ask their leaving employee to leave an "exit report" so they can improve their business. don't do it, cuz normally they will have to pay consultent 10K to do a workplace assesment.

>Your contract is not 100 pages you fsggot.
t. someone whos on unemployment benefits all his life

it sure looks like its a hundred fucking pages

>Fatigue Management Procedure
That's not part of your contract. At least not the part that you should be caring about.

Also, what the fuck user, they can't force you to stay if you quit.
