He has spoken and written at great length on topics such as the importance of maintaining cleanliness of living quarters, not to mention one's reproductive organs.

His work was refreshing when he first hit the scene. But the fact is, he promotes the worst of modernity. His material-centric pseudo-Jungian-Nietzschean theory embodies precisely the sort of ideas that tore apart the Traditional world view. The ambiguity of a divine transcendent, the emphasis on evolutionary psychological (unfalsifiable) explanations for spirituality, the pragmatic methodology, pushing for collective unconscious+archetypes as “real” interpretations of religious myths: these the sort of ideas that Traditionalists like Rene Guenon warned about as dismantling and destabalizing the Traditional world. Sure JP uses some nifty ideas from the likes of Mircea Eliade. But despite what a lot of “smart” guys these days think about both Jung and Nietzsche, they are pretty much the worst (but unintentionally) destructive thinkers of modern times, in many ways worse than Freud, Marx, or Darwin (particularly became J and N were so convincing in regard to spiritual matters).
Go back to the Traditionalists and occult writers for how we should view life. Don’t give an inch to the materialist vanguard. JP is subversive even if he doesn’t mean to be.

Peterson is a jungian psychologist and a proponent of transmodernism--the synthesis of modernism and post-modernism, a way of finding meaning in a strict materialist world.

I only read most of his 12 rules book but the impression I got is that he is some amalgamation of an historian, psychologist, and "philosopher" trying to pass off his common sense rules as some big unified theory of life. I appreciate the logic in those rules, but none of them are groundbreaking in any way.
