As far as I know, the Communist Party is cracking down on religion in general. They are targeting Muslims more violently though because they've already tried various times to establish a separate Islamic country from China. Hence why the commies are trying to exterminate Islam. Christianity is having churches destroyed, and is trying to develop a pro-socialist Chinese/Christian religion. Although it isn't as effective as Christians have underground churches.
