Growing up in a lower-middle class neighborhood, as a kid I had many poor friends, some of them are still my friends. I now live in a middle-upper class neighborhood, and I can really tell the difference between accomodated middle-upper classes and lower classes.
First of all, lower class people are really stupid and resentful. They blame everyone for their failure, and are usually dumber than richer people.
They are usually more violent too, and tend to abuse of substances. They don't know how to say no, and spend a lot of money, sometimes all the money they have, in alcohol and other indulgences.
I no longer hang around with my poorer friends, only with the ones that managed to get into the uni despite of their poor backgrounds. And they have changed too, they no longer are that stupid and they can agree with me that friends from our neighborhood have no future at all, as they can't really plan long term and are very ignorant.
I sometimes wish they could change their ways. My friends from the old neighborhood were such fun when we were kids, we had such good times. But now most of them already have children, are unemployed or have shit jobs, some are alcoholics, they always get into fights. It's like they have learned nothing. It's so sad, because many of them were really good friends, but they are ruined now and it's a waste of time trying to fix them.

In my experience poor people are often bad with money (disclaimer: poor by U.S. standards is probably wealthy by the rest of the world's standards). They don't have much because they drink it away or spend it on junk they don't need. Poor people I know spend more money than I do on things like clothes.
In my experience poor people often think money is way more important than it really is. They think all their problems would be solved if they had a lot of money. From what I've seen of their behavior, I doubt it.
In my experience poor people are often trying to look like they have more money than they do. In poor communities it seems that people thinking you are rich gives you some clout. I guess this is why they spend more money on clothes than I do.
