Elon Musk and the Left

do liberals realize how shortsighted and counterintuitive they are? they worship this man’s creations, yet want to tax men like him 80% of their wealth. if they had their way someone like elon musk wouldn’t be able to create what he has.

>do liberals realize
user i

UK n US progressed far more when it was state driven rather than private companies.

Hes almost alt right ? Close friend of Peter Thiel, founded PayPal together. Born in South Africa and father is hard right. 5 sons by same model wives.
Does not cuck or donate to democrats.

Mars is literally dead and going there would be a net loss for humanity.
Elon is a delusional snake oil salesman.

Faggot kys or else

>and going there would be a net loss for humanity.
How so?

>Hop tests this year
Only this man can make me fully erect

There are people there already actually.

The golden age of scientific progress during the 20th century happened when the government had an iron grip on corporations and RnD.

Fight me.

Liberals aren't socialists, at least the NPC ones aren't. Liberals want open markets and open borders and urban sprawl and control of everything in a half-assed dictatorship basically.

FPBP!
Never assume a libtard THINKS.

I guess he means the staggering amount of resources and money that would be used to go to a barren planet which for the moment has no obvious benefits to us.

Funny you ask people to fight you, the reason r&d evolved so fast was because of wars.

Other than making sure that not all our eggs are in the same basket so that one asteroid or gamma-ray burst is all it takes to drive us extinct.

Which are done by governments, a corporation can get you a banana war but that's not advancing anything. You're proving my point.

Republicans have been peddling this lie for over 50 years.
GFYS
No more gov't extortion benefiting only the wealthy. They can afford to live on 20 million just as well as 10 million.

they don't understand what it takes to run a company, all they see is huge amounts of money and think "uh thats like 80 billion dollars these rich fucks are hording all the money, we should tax them to take some of it"

That's why the ESA and NASA both have their own manned launch vehicles, right?

The most promising new launch system that NASA was working on was killed off. Meanwhile Elon is putting satellites in orbit on the regular, is in the process of getting Dragon approved for manned flight, and built reusable and recoverable boosters.

The progress made by NASA only happened because the moon landing was being used as a way to measure dicks with the Soviets. Had it not been political showmanship, do you really think that as much money would have been poured into space exploration beyond military usage. NASA never even handled military launches, the Air Force exclusively puts spy and monitoring satellites into orbit for themselves and the CIA.

Taxes apply after expenses. You can tax SpaceX to eighty percent, it won't affect any of its R&D. It would only affect the captial raised through equity sales because there would be less profit.

for the resources it takes to build a few air craft super carriers we could put people on Mars. And the information gain about how human DNA adapts to different planets could revile valuable data that changes medicine forever.

Just think we had it better before. Companies and individuals still free to do what ever they want but society as a whole does the big stuff.

fuk off commie, most companies reinvest all their money and have single digit profit margins

I wouldn't say having a plan B for humanity is net loss

they reinvest their profits, not to mention borrowing and spending their projected profits for years in advance.

>taxes apply after expenses
are you retarded? He wouldn't have had billions of dollars to start tesla or spacex to begin with had he had all his wealth stolen and handed to niggers for hi-c and gushers.

The money is pumped into the economy, creates tech jobs for frikkin spaceships. Not sure I see the downside.
No one cares about saving an infinite number of starving babies, it's not a winnable goal, but space is.

it's all scripted by saturn.

dumb nigger, you wouldn't be posting on this website if it wasn't for the space race between usa and ussr, and even further back to werner von braun and the wright brothers.

Yeah, using that money we could feed all niggers in africa for additional month i guess.

Reinvested profits, loan repayments and all forms of captial raising are untaxed. It's only selling stock that would be affected as people would pay less for stock if profits are taxed higher.

The majority of SpaceX's captial does not come from Musk. And
>As of May 2012, SpaceX had operated on total funding of approximately $1 billion in its first ten years of operation. Of this, private equity provided about $200M, with Musk investing approximately $100M and other investors having put in about $100M (Founders Fund, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, ...).[85] The remainder has come from progress payments on long-term launch contracts and development contracts.

I don't know what resources Mars has in comparison, but China wants to mine the moon for resources

>If you are thinking that panning the entire surface of the Moon might not be a sound business model, consider that helium-3 would probably not be the only payoff expected. Just as extraction of rare earth metals on our own planet is often piggybacked on a larger iron ore harvest, the Moon would offer a lot in the way of other primary raw materials like, for example, titanium.
extremetech.com/extreme/197784-china-is-going-to-mine-the-moon-for-helium-3-fusion-fuel

>China wants to mine the moon for ‘space gold’
This is a real PBS headline
pbs.org/newshour/economy/china-wants-to-mine-the-moon-for-space-gold

Meant to reply to
Also corporations are affected by the corporate tax rate and if registered as such they pay the historically 20 something tax rate. Only LLC profits or income are taxed at 80%.

>Meanwhile Elon is putting satellites in orbit on the regular,
um dozens of companies do that, satellites are not exactly rare

Not anymore, they want the wealth as long as they can continue mass immigration to weaken white nations and extract resources. This is called the , " diaspora strategy "

Tax the banks.

Mining moon/asteroids MIGHT be profitable (if we cal bring down cost of bringing these resources to earth) but i dont really see why people would like to love in mars, if we have ZERO antarctica colonies. And antarctica is much more hispitable to human life than mars. Air avaible, no radiation, normal gravity.
So if people dont want to live on north pole, why would they want to live on mars? Except some scientific expeditions.

incorrect. Precisely three non governmental groups launch satellites for a fee. Space X, Blue Origin and Bransons group.

>The progress made by NASA only happened because the moon landing was being used as a way to measure dicks with the Soviets
Yes, and as soon as we beat them to the moon we shut the whole thing down. Needless to say, that's bad. A state-funder space program will always get better results faster because the priorities are different from private industry, which often has a short term, next quarter, return-on-investment mentality which militates against long term overarching goals. Privatization is not the answer to every last question, or even most. So while I believe that Musk's efforts are the best we can do right now in the current "who gives a damn about space" climate, I also believe that if things continue on the way they are, China will beat us to Mars.

I also believe antpics = communism.

there is also Rocket Lab with their electron rocket.

>father is hard right
Elon hates his father

Liberals (lefties) don't worship Musk they hate his guts. His following is largely conservative and/or libertarian, or centrist/neoliberal/classic lib

Antrix Corporation
Arianespace
Eurockot Launch Services
Glavcosmos
International Launch Services
ISC Kosmotras
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems
Rocket Lab
SpaceX
Sea Launch
Starsem
United Launch Alliance
etc

And United Launch Alliance, a joint venture between Lockheed and Boeing. And Northrop Grumman through its subsidiary ATK Orbital.

>do liberals realize how shortsighted and counterintuitive they are?
Don't be too obvious. Trolling them is one thing, telling them that they're being trolled is another. They're stupid as a rule, and we make our job better and easier, as informed citizens, to just ignore them. Counter their lies abundantly, but don't portray yourself as a "non-liberal". Except on here, give them shit.

talking about private wealth that elon had to put into these company’s. you either are truly a retarded spic or this is b8

You realize all of Musk’s wealth (post x.com) ... SpaceX, Tesla .. rests on government contracts and gibs like e-car and green energy subsidies? Government .. and Liberal green policies and science/nasa funding ... created Musk. market capitalism and the globalized investment community is now, like a parasite, is feeding off it. And they’ll be the ones to kill it all.

Sending pea sized shit to space doesn't count.

First off, Mars hasn't got a magnetosphere, meaning its core is dead, and there is not enough fissile material in our solar system, even when accounting for the Oort cloud, to kickstart its core the old fashioned way -- don't give me the muh Sun is a nuclear reactor meme because harnessing it directly is nigh on impossible.
Speaking of the Sun, there is a way to theoretically boil Mars again, by building a giant magnifying glass and shipping it into Mars' orbit, to fry it slowly as a kid would an ant mound.
This would render any archeological or possibly paleontological discoveries moot, as the terrain would lose all semblance of historic formation, and evidence of life and/or architecture would melt along with it.
Sure, you could fight nature and send off men to live in plastic bubbles for all eternity, because that's the only viable solution we have for the foreseeable future, but be forewarned, no discovery will ever make up for shipping cost, and no person or creature born there could ever return without being crushed by Earth's tripled gravity and germs they've never been exposed to.
We have a better shot at funneling those needless astronomical figures towards trying to fix the planet we all live on for starters. Robots are perfectably capable of exploring in our place, flesh and space don't mesh well.
This is just the first step towards creating another Africa that fucking hates us, only in space, and in space, noone can hear you scream.

Attached: 7c7.png (600x376, 226K)

If we had out way, the world wouldn't need a ridiculously wealthy few generous enough to invest in basic technology for the future. This would just be a part of society and there would be no need to "worship" anything.

Attached: 2019-01-07_015241.jpg (629x569, 169K)

how about we build space colonies like in gundam

Rich fucks are hoarding tons of money but at this point the problem is with wealth inequality not income inequality.
If we increase taxes on income this just insures hardly anyone else gets wealthy enough to compete with the dudes who have $20 trillion plus stashed in just a few islands

Europeans learned long ago that two smart parents don't make a smart child. It's probably too difficult for the average black to research, but intelligent immigrants from Africa, and adopted African children raised by white middle class families achieve the same results. Blame culture, blame genetics, but 30/100 is different than 52/100 when you add the averages up. Yeah I made those numbers up, but I'm not wrong. I posted some facts about it. Everybody can see it, and there's plenty of studies that prove it. Blacks have a lower average general IQ.

Attached: brainlet.png (213x237, 8K)

>but intelligent immigrants from Africa
That is their children are underacheivers on average.

humans will die out eventually regardless. Future is robots.
specifically swarms of nanobots with digitized information we accrued. Think grey goo or space cyber sperm, but I'm just talking out of my ass here.

this is one of possibilities
if we achive strong AI, its all ogre, humanity is toast

Because the State worked more towards a coherent end/national interest as opposed to "who is paying me the most right now".

People operating on Reaganoid thinking assume the government is inefficient. This is because they assume that the goal of the government as it currently exists is something like "provide for the common good". Nothing could be further from the truth. The USG is a machine that takes money as inputs and has patronage and laws as outputs. It's very successful in this regard.

>You realize all of Musk’s wealth (post x.com) ... SpaceX, Tesla .. rests on government contracts and gibs like e-car and green energy subsidies?
Only in the amounts necessary to cope with the crushing weight of government regulations and subsidy of established competitors. He very cleverly negotiated exceptions to the things that would normally kill companies making real progress.

> zero Antarctica colonies
user, I...

...and there will be unicorns pooping rainbow ice-creams for all the interracial children...
