Everything south east of Austria is Balkan, including Hungary (since they have been under ottoman rule as well.

Of course it’s Balkan. It’s referred among Romanians as the ass of Europe. On the flip side we Romanians know that God had a weakness for the part of land where the Carpathians mountains turn and decided to pour all his blessings on those people living there. Hence why we Romanians think we are a special peoples.
