You'd be surprised to learn that with the rise of gender equality fathers are more and more likely to get custody over children. iirc the statistics are about 65%-35% in favor of the child(ren)'s mother but that statistic is skewed significantly by the fact that many times father's don't even petition for custody, only visitation rights and such. Joint custody is more and more prevalent and is generally set on a rotating 3-4 weekdays for each parent (generally mandating that the child(ren) will spend alternating weekends with each parent)

While the length of the marriage is relatively low (iirc the national average is 8 years) the upside is that any potential spouse support and/or alimony will last shorter. Also shorter marriages means less assets to be divided so if you're scared of *losing half my shit* it can only happen if you generally earned all of your assets while married (i.e. Bezos - if he marries tomorrow and divorces a few moths later, his future spouse would only be eligible for whatever he earned during those few months and wouldn't be eligible for significant alimony or spouse support payments).

Furthermore, regarding alimony, iirc the average yearly alimony payment in the US is less than $1000 and the average length of alimony payments is around 4 years.

I think part of my problem is that I'm looking for those same/similar values outside of the LDS context and I'm having a rough time finding them. I think my ideal would be an ex-Mormon wife who still believed in God, but that's overly specific.
