OECD PISA tests the skills and knowledge of 15 year-olds, providing the global benchmark for the quality, equity and efficiency of school systems.

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an internationally standardised assessment that was jointly developed by participating countries and administered to 15-year-olds in schools. The survey was implemented in 43 countries in the 1st assessment in 2000, in 41 countries in the 2nd assessment in 2003, in 57 countries in the 3rd assessment in 2006, 62 countries in the 4th assessment in 2009 and 65 countries in the 5th assessment in 2012 and 72 countries in 2015. Tests are typically administered to between 4 500 and 10 000 students in each country.
PISA assesses how far students near the end of compulsory education have acquired some of the knowledge and skills that are essential for full participation in society. In all cycles, the domains of reading, mathematical and scientific literacy are covered not merely in terms of mastery of the school curriculum, but in terms of important knowledge and skills needed in adult life.

saying any east asian school system is good means your metrics are flawed.
We make good high school students according to exam scores.
In reality the bottom 1/3rd of the students drop out sophomore year because the last two years are nothing but exam prep for a test they won't be taking.
Those smart enough to get into competitive public universities then coast by for 4 years and get hired based on the name of the school.
If you fucked around your parents pay out the ass for you to go to private school where you also fuck around for 4 years.
Majority of all people wind up with all those high school skills totally atrophied if they were even real to begin with an not just cramming. Look at how shit our foreign language skills are.
Most of Asia going to university means getting a degree in playing DOTA. Anyone with even a tiny trace of ambition learns English and studies oversees.
Asian Uni = too poor/can't learn English/lazy.

PISA is an assessment given to 15-year-olds in school, not to education systems

Gabriel Collins

according to your own post they're a measure of the quality of the system, which again means that the metrics are flawed.
There's many things that Asian schools do better for creating better members of society: like requiring students to do their own cooking and cleaning in the school, but those are undercut by other common extremes like painfully short vacations that often have still have obligatory extra curricular school activities happening at the same time.
These sorts of things minimize the amount of time that families spend time together bonding and set an example for an adult life with little or no time for family/children.
This doesn't even touch on all the rampant 'faking it' that goes on in adult life: when long hours are the norm everyone slacks off as much as possible just to survive and productivity droops.
there's plenty of problems with western learning and habits as well but let's not pretend Asia is going to show you the way.

according to your own post they're a measure of the quality of the system
again, PISA is just data, it gives us information about what can 15-year-olds in school can do, it shouldn't be used as the sole reference to measure educational policy

my hunch for that is probably because of social skills
you need to be somewhat sociable or be a normiefag tier scum before you can actually get recognised

a lot of people from this board could qualify if they can put up being a normie for a change, but that's never gonna happen
