Feather is pretty good. Well, feather is really good at their best- the blade quality feels really inconsistent, with some being the best razor blades ever, and others being barely above shit.

I use my Grandads English made 1950s Gillette safety razor I saved from the trash when he died. Toss in some Wilkinson sword blades and it’s the best (and cheapest) shave you can get. Plus the sentimental factor is comfy.

Yes, although shaving soap works better. Honestly, I shave after a hot shower which loosen ups the hairs and you don't even need cream or gel at all.

move blade up and down slow on face, up motion cuts the hairs, down motion forces the hairs out of the blade. Never take the blade away from your face, they have a little button to push hairs out, all is good.

this works best when you don't wash your face with soap prior to shaving the natural oils provide enough lubrication. Still using gel is better, since the hairs kind of get all stuck inside the blades if you don't wash your face first.

Obviously wash your face after, I like to use baking soda mixed with some of this mylushandstuff.com/2017/06/01/dirty-springwash-shower-gel-lush-review/ just after a shave to exfoliate. As if I would need such a "scandal" to not buy shit from international conglomerates.
Many hygene products lika tooth paste, soap, cremes and shampoos can be done by yourself for cheap and without any unnessecary additives. Most of the time you only need soda or lye, which one can buy in bulk for cheap and fat/oils. I sometimes use the tallow of animals I hunted.
Add essential oils or some shit your wife likes in it and it's perfect.

There are tons of recepies online and overall it is a better alternative then buying the newest shit with twenty chemicals that only are in there to alter the texture or smell or to make it foamy, all the while being tested on animals with varried results.
Also always a good present for others.
