Alright I don't usually ever post here because I usually get shouted down by nazis but I lurk here because it is higher quality than lefty Jow Forums.
Basically, I've been with my girlfriend since college and I'm now graduating law school and she want's me to work at a firm but I've become more politically activated and I recently turned some offers to be an associate because I want to go into politics and start a revolutionary party.
She doesn't support me and says I'm squandering a good chance to get a good start on my "Profession" but I told her being a lawyer does not interest me anymore because I'd be beholden to middle class values.
I asked her to buy some land (her grandparents left her a ton of money) so we could start a worker's commune and sell our goods to buy even more land until we can be a real revolutionary party. When she said I wan't thinking straight I told her she's a class traitor and she doesn't believe me or historical materialism. I asked her straight up "Are you a dialectical materialist or not?" and she said "Yes but I still want you to get a real job." I then got angry and drove to my parents' house. I haven't told them my plan yet and they think I'm an associate attorney.
Am I right in staying true to myself here? WTF do you do with people who love who seem to not really believe in your politics? I want to be like pic related and she said she wanted to be a communist power couple when I asked her a year ago but now I wonder if she just said all that because I am so into it and she's not really communist.

So, starting at a very minimum, becoming a lawyer and starting to generate wealth of your own to be able to put toward your ideal is likely to help you accomplish your goals. Maybe shes actually just level headed about the fact that gaining capital is a realistic means to and end.
