I would post a picture. I have a really good one of my Grandfather (he was actually USA pilot), but I don't think he would have approved of a neo Nazi Chinese cartoon board.
Then again maybe he would have liked pol idk he was shot down in Nam fighting the dirty commie gooks.

After basic recruitment training
at what was then called the Rifle
Range Camp at Enogerra, Frank
left for Sydney by train from
Rifle Range Station (renamed
Gaythorne in 1923) on the 21 st
December, 1916. In that
Enogerra area there was another
two other large army training
camps – Frasers and Bell’s
Paddock.
The battalion sailed on the SS
“Demosthenes” from Sydney on the 23 December arriving in England
on the 31 st March 1917. The battalion was to undergo further training
at Hurcott Camp on the cold and wind swept Salisbury Plains.
rd
Frank crossed to France in July, 1917. The 5 th Division was then
deployed to south-western Belgium in the area around the strategically
vital town of Ypres with the 4 th Div. as part of 1 ANZAC Corps. There were a number of ongoing large offensives in the area East of
Ypres after July 1917 as the Allies strove to drive back the German front
line in the key Belgian –French border theatre of the Western Front.
After the battle of the Menin Road, the next major engagement which
became known as the Battle of Polygon Wood (near Zonnebeke),
Frank’s 31 st Battalion and the 29 th Battalion were to be reserves for the
advance on the German front line by the 5 th Div. set for 5AM of the
morning of the 26 th September, 1917.

Attached: Frank Pearson 1.jpg (680x1071, 229K)

The British 33 rd Div. was to the immediate right flank of the 5 th Div, AIF.
Plans for the attack were thrown into disarray when the German
Army’s 50 th Div attacked first at the line between the British 33 rd Div
and the AIF 5 th Div on the 25 th September and through that night.
Sections of the British Div on the flank were forced back by 500 –
700m. Two battalions of three of the 15 th Brigade, AIF who were slated
to lead the attack toward Polygon Wood on the 26 th September were
badly mauled holding the German advance and had to be withdrawn.
At very short notice the 31 st and 29 th Battalions, 8 th Brigade AIF were
taken from their reserve positions as replacements and put into the line
right aside the British 33 rd . Both these battalions just managed to reach
the advanced position just prior to the scheduled early morning attack,
with neither battalion officers nor troops familiar with the terrain,
trenches or the extent of the new enemy positions.
It is assumed that in this confusion exacerbated by a heavy mist,
continual artillery barrages and the earlier German break through that
Frank was wounded and subsequently captured by the Germans. His
time in battle was short but at least he was alive.
(During the 26 th and the 27 th September the 5 th Division was
successful in capturing Polygon Wood and turning back the
German advance and their front line.

Frank must have been taken to this camp not long after capture as
George did write to him using the Dyrotz camp address in May, 1918.
From a postcard photo of Frank, 3 British soldiers and a camp guard
sent to his mother on 17/01/19 it would appear that Frank was treated
fairly during his time as a POW :-
