I don't know details, but all our banks did some investments and expanding in all the immediate eastern EU members, so Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, just look up Reiffeisen bank Croatia for example, you will see they have branches there. I don't know about the Baltic, but I am sure there was some business made there too, to be fair there was general investment across the board from our whole economy, OMV, our oil and gas company did a lot of investing, for example. And some companies like bauMax, an Austrian home improvement chain went in too heavy and got their neck broken by it.
No idea about their real 'weight' ... also no idea how Kurz handles that beast now, could be it is still too full of old functionaries with a lot to lose.
