Explicitly political /sig/ - self improvement general

/sig/ draws from ancient Hellenic civic virtue, early Americanism, National Socialism, and I'm sure a myriad of other political ideologies. Not only are strong bodies needed for warfare and industry, but mental health deteriorates with physical health, as observed by millennia of physicians from prehistoric Ayurvedic tradition to Hippocrates in the 5th century BC to modern researchers like Dr. John Ratey. Physical weakness leads to mental and spiritual weakness and the decay of peoples and their societies.

Strengthen your body to strengthen your mind. Don't let sloth distort the lens through which you view the world. Open your eyes and see through the lies. Build a better body politic.

>No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training…what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.
t. Socrates
>In order for man to succeed in life, God provided him with two means, education and physical activity. Not separately, one for the soul and the other for the body, but for the two together. With these two means, man can attain perfection.
t. Plato

>I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.

>Health was amongst (if not the most) precious gift of Heaven, and without it we are but little capable of business, or enjoyment.
t. George Washington
>Leave all the afternoon for exercise and recreation, which are as necessary as reading. I will rather say more necessary because health is worth more than learning.

>Walking is the best possible exercise. Habituate yourself to walk very far.

>Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.

>Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

>I repeat my advice to take a great deal of exercise, and on foot. Health is the first requisite after morality.
t. Thomas Jefferson

>Above all, a balance must be struck in education between intellectual instruction and physical development. What is called a Gymnasium or secondary school today is a mockery of the Greek school it was supposedly modeled after. We have completely forgotten in education that in the long run, a sound mind can only live in a sound body.
t. Adolf Hitler
>Long lasting success in any human endeavor is never the result of blind luck. The achievement of a clearly defined goal, whether it be the act of walking from point "X" to point "Y", the building of a house, or the organization of a business, is always the product of three things:
>>The intellectual ability to perceive the problem involved, the opposition which must be expected, and the best way to overcome that opposition to reach the goal.
>>The will and determination to do whatever may be necessary to reach the desired goal, regardless of opposition.
>>The physical means, strength, and courage to enforce and carry out the plan or fight conceived by the mind and determined by the will.
>If any of these three elements be lacking on one's purpose, failure is the inevitable, predictable result.

>On the other hand, civilizations, for all their intellectual achievements and sciences, perish most often because of failure of the will, the diminishing of the savage and ruthless drive for survival and dominance which originally created society. They become "humanitarian", selfish, and soft. They become physically weak and dependent on paid armies and police to do their fighting. The fighting spirit of honor and self-sacrifice and heroism of their ancestors gives way to a growing love of ease and luxury and cowardice masquerading as "humanitarianism".
t. George Lincoln Rockwell

Recently gave up the liquid jew lads, feeling great

Which liquid jew, alcohol or energy drinks?

The former. Even beyond the weight gain and general physical deterioration, it orients your whole life into a cycle of "trudge through the week / work day until you get to 'fun time' where you can drink", so any drive you might have to self improve is nullified

You can only change the world by living the change you'd like to see in the world.

/SIG/ is political. It's politics at the most basic level.

I'm happy for you, friendo, congratulations. My brother seems to have made drinking a cornerstone of his existence, I really hope he doesn't fall too far down that rabbit hole. Any advice on talking to him about it? What convinced you to stop?

Rejected kike-on-a-stick-ism completely 2 months ago. best sig improvement so far. Everything is much clearer now that reality does not have to conform to the cucked teachings of the (((bible)))

Anyone with even a basic background in political or historical reading, or some real-world experience and common sense, should know this to be true. Any arguments to the contrary are either from a position of ignorance or disingenuous degenerate shilling. I decided that /sig/ should be more explicitly political to inform the ignorant and preempt the "off topic" allegations throw by shills.

JFK threatened to halt Israel's nuclear weapons program (which has now produced between 200 and 400 nuclear bombs).

JFK demanded that the American Zionist Council (now known as AIPAC - the American Israel Public Affairs Committee) be registered as a foreign agent. AIPAC virtually owns America's politicians.

JFK signed Executive Order 11110 which removed the unconstitutional powers of the Jewish owned Federal Reserve to issue debt-based notes.

I actually didn't know about that, thanks user.

My sober count is back to 1 day. I dropped the ball. But that's no excuse to wallow and keep dropping it.

I did some dumb shit and had a moment of "I need to turn away from this or it's going to ruin my life". It's hard to just stop before that kind of crisis moment, because it's easy to come up with excuses like wellll I'll just tamper it down a bit, wellll just another weekend, wellll I can work on myself later but you just remain where you're at / get worse gradually over time. Some people can handle alcohol responsibly, some people can't

Amen sister. I gave up carbs recently and have never felt better. Off to the pool to swim a few miles before work.

This is well put. But if steven hawking was able to swim and lift, he would have been a mental titan? An ubermensch

>I did some dumb shit
I've been worried about that happening, but he actually seems to be mellowing out with age/regular whisky consumption.

His physical disability definitely hampered his potential, even if just from a "time wasted dealing with it" angle. He was into rowing (pic related, holding the handkerchief) before the disease started its slow progression in his early 20s.

>Off to the pool to swim a few miles before work.
Growing up in a landlocked area with shallow streams, I never learned to swim. What's a good way to learn without being the creepy old dude in the kids' swim class?

Bump for SIG as long as it lasts

Based

Has /SIG/ been dying organically lately? I assumed it wasn't showing up in the catalog because it was getting wrongly deleted for being off-topic, which has been an issue in the past.

That's a good attitude. Did you learn something from dropping the ball this time?

and iron pilled

remember to practice moderation in all things. but if you feel that cutting alcohol/caffeine/x/y/z out completely would be good for you then by all means do it. Love you brethren

>moderation in all things
Sounds like some extreme moderation, user. Have you considered being moderate in moderation?

Politicians such as JFK, Hitler, and Lycurgus took proactive measures to keep the citizenry fit and strong. What kind of policy towards this end would have a reasonable chance of success today?

Friendly reminder that people don’t take men seriously unless they are physically fit.
Sorry genetically thin anons, that’s just how it is.

>Sorry genetically thin anons, that’s just how it is.
Outside of certain diseases, you can only blame genetics to a point. After that it's lifestyle and nutrition.

People were getting worried about the nation's physical fitness back in the 1960s and it's gotten so, so much worse. This is a political failing not just for individuals, but for the security of the nation as a whole.
