What the fuck is all this about? I saw nothing of the sort in the video, the only hero was the one who rushed Tarant but got rekt real quick, and he was alone in his car

There were two other gun(wo)men. One woman and three men were arrested. One man was quickly released, when it became clear that he had nothing to do with it. The additional man and the woman are still in police custody, though.

Initial reports might have been of multiple shooters due to all the police being on alert like this, but nothing at all from the current evidence suggests it's more than one Australians final shitpost. Does anybody have any idea why he chose not to torch the first mosque? When he makes the first trip back to his car for the other gun, he grabs the gas can for a second then sets it down and curses to himself. Then with the new gun he runs to the far opposite side of the building and takes some long range shots at somebody. You can barely see somebody fall and thats when Brenton says "looks like we're not burning it today, boys".
It's not even remotely difficult to believe that in a town in the middle of a major shooting somebody saw two people with rifles, smartly got the fuck out of the area and then started telling people, including the media, that they were shooters. The fog of war is hard enough to deal with for trained soldiers. Expecting initial reports about a current mass shooting from a media that doesn't check anything even when they have time to match up with what actually happened is a bit much. I'm not saying I definitely think they were cops but that's a perfectly plausible scenario.
In a situation like that he probably thought the officers would arrive at any moment, didn't think he'd have enough time to make his little inferno that he wanted so he decided to go around getting his kill count up
By the way the fact that he just ruins his visibility by shooting out of his window and making it obvious he's the terrorist ruins the narrative that he went to a second mosque. If he had planned on a second mosque he wouldn't just be crashing and burning like that after the first one, but instead have kept a low profile
